took this short at ny close yesterday with intentions of taking out intraday stop levels....

well it did that and more obviously...

no i was short eur/chf a week before intervention... that was just an in and out trade though...

the 4093 i was talking about was the EU short...

Same here. I figured with all the turmoil a breakout to the upside would fail more likely than not. My entry wasn't ideal, but I caught 120 points nonetheless. Looks like weekends aren't very kind to the single currency.

yep nice brother exactly my thinking... i was short from the wicks on the high so i should have held a bit simply bc my entry was so good..

it started out as an exaustion short after stops were picked up on the high.( after the options battle for the 10am cut) and it materialized into much more...

my plan was to hold it over the weekend in anticipation of the orderflow after really no resolution came about at the meetings...possible downgrade talks etc...

My rationale was a bit simpler than that. I don't usually trade 'formations' or 'candlestick patterns', but sometimes the odds are so heavily stacked in one's favor that I just can't resist taking the trade. I bet on the 'triangle' breaking down. I have to admit that news headlines played a part in me taking that position, but the trade could've turned out to be a loser had the Europeans figured something out over the weekend.

Heya bug and fxjawn, nice trades! I had a similar weekend-holding trade as well, which extended on further into the week, albeit on a different pair. GBP isn't faring too well...
