FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The payment of the next tranche of the bailout for Greece depends at present on the Eurozone, IMF and ECB inspectors' assessment of whether the country is capable of fulfilling the conditions of the rescue loans. Today a conference call will be held at 16:00 GMT between the Greek finance minister and the EU and IMF officials in order to discuss the situation.

The Troika has sent George Papandreou a list of 15 measures which his government needs to implement in order to qualify for the international bailout. The measures have already been included in the June agreement and they concern civil servant layoffs, reduction of salaries and pensions in the public sector, reduction of health service expenses and speeding up privatizations, among others.

German finance minister Wolfgang Schäuble said in an interview published Sunday that Greece would not receive the next 8 billion euro tranche of the bailout unless it strictly carried out the previously agreed upon reforms. In a statement released on Sunday evening Greek finance minister Evangelos Venizelos criticized the Troika for exerting so much pressure on his country. "We should not be the scapegoat or the easy excuse that will be used by European and international institutions in order to hide their own lack of competence to manage the crisis" he said.

Euro daily Support is holding just because the daily range is almost completed with the weekend gap (+150 ticks). The weekend open killed London session in most markets (50 tick range in the euro ..pathetic) and no reports to shake things up ....boring morning here across markets...

Yup, we could do with some rumours from somewhere. Germany must love the euro at these levels, they will quickly make up on increased exports whatever the bailout is costing them.

Did you see the export numbers out of Holland last week? Up 17%, that's a lot of cloggies.

I agree. Ironically Greece default/EZ debt crisis may save the EZ (assuming banks don't collapse) to go in recession (export driven economies will have a good push with euro at these levels and below).

I have been reading some macroeconomic forecast (for economic policy not private investment) and yes Holland and Germany are especially "happy" with a euro "devaluation" and some macro policies till next year (2nd quarter) are assuming a euro as low as 1.29xx with an average exchange rate of 1.350xx in the next 12 months...

Both 1.29xx and 1.350x make perfect TA sense in my charts too....
