When there's this much stress and systemic risk, these guys will get testy. They all worry about their legacies, and, yes, they all do really want to keep things from falling apart for the greater good. Private bankers, cross out that last phrase.

I'm really waiting to see if the political blogs pick it up over the weekend. Most will have to wait until an adult e'splains it to them, though, so it might not be that quick.

Given what ol' James Carville wrote yesterday on Politico (Obama needs to "fire (staff), indict (bankers), fire (maybe, who knows?)), and Gov. (monetary expansion=treason) Perry's take on things, once it gets into the political arena, it's probably DOA.

Where did you read about Italy? . Gold has remained very passive (surprisingly) and decoupled from what is going on the last few days but today it realigned with risk. It should hit 2000 relatively easy on the Greece default and/or Italy/EZ banks, etc.

I don't like when they make public those number (1.20xx) before a major shock as they imply they are short from a long way up by now and the short term weekly range usually make a pullback to the opposite side......
