Im new to S/D, shouldnt we look for supply areas as we are in a clear downtrend in the big picture ?

DislikedHere is a indie from another thread that might be useful for supply / demand methods.
Written by Squalou, a really fine coder, it is based on consolidation zones.
In mq4 form it has very well noted , explained settings in the code notes.

Disliked...In 15yrs as a pro in the mkts, i never once heard the terms Supply and Demand. In fact, the last time i heard those terms was when i was studying A level economics.
Hands in pockets, as you were, pm me and i'll give you the name of a ta book worth reading, fecker used to sit at the end of the desk in the eighties with his charts, but most times he was right.....
Hope this helps.Ignored
DislikedHi to all
I've just joined the forum, but i think this is an excellent price action thread.
I'd like to post my thoughts and charts, but my modus operandi is basically day trading the daily chart. I have yet to have a real runner of a trade. I would like to echo the sentiment, Neorio your posts are great, please keep them up during Dans absence.
My style, although completely based on Price Action, and classical candlestick patterns, tends to lock in profit fairly early, whilst moving my stop to b/e.
It's akin to scalping...Ignored
DislikedThx red for a good thread, and to the contributors.
I've been trading candles on the daily primarily, but i think this is a great method.
Be grateful for comments on these charts, i'm not trading, just trying to familiarise myself with the setups first.
On the 4hr, you can see price returning to the demand zone.
Dropping to the 15min, price entered the zone cautiously, and then printed a bullish engulfing, with a close outside the zone.
Would have been a nice trade.
Be interested to hear others comments.
CheersIgnored

15 years my arse!
Let's look at the facts... Here is your 1st post to the FF forum back in March 2011
Firstly, to date we haven't seen a single chart of yours here on FF. Secondly, if you are 15 years as a pro, surely you would have had 'a real runner of a trade'. In matter of fact Mr Pro, if you go back over your first 10 or so posts from March 2011 to July 2011, you posted in all the PA threads including PIE and RTP. Here is your post to the PIE thread -
Let me guess... you tried to trade Supply and Demand and failed...Ignored

DislikedIt's working just fine for me. If you understand this method and want a really easy way to place your trades, modify the stop as time passes, and use TWO targets, I have an EA that will do the trick. The stop also moves to breakeven at an area you define.
Note that the one thing I did NOT want to do is have something like TakeProfit at 40 pips, or move stop to breakeven at 20 pips. All the action are defined using lines so you can truly trade the way S.S. teaches.
I wrote this about a year ago with one target, it worked fine but the...Ignored
