therefore that equals £50 for each week. therefore after a month that could be £200, 20% of your startup capital. This is easily in do-able, if you stick to money management, which is what i do.
in reply top my own post, this does not take into account miscellaneous factors such as tragedies, earthquakes, hurricanes, wars and financial news which could drastically change stocks. for example what happened a few weeks in ago in the usa to do with the debt ceiling and even though it was made clear there would be more debt available, the financials across the world lost nearly as much as 10%.

I know, that at average is possible to make around 5 - 15% per month .. that mean once month - 5%, second month +15% and at average +10%, i think that is not possible to make everymonth profit, sometimes you will make, sometimes you will loose. Good money management is really important, you should use at least 2:1 (TP:SL) - 4:1 (TP:SL)

And the traders over at www.gfsignals.com probably make WAY more than 1% a week, on average (however, there is no way I can verify this without knowing their balances, it's just a guess.) Their signal service is genuine, on time and identical to the trades that their traders actually make.

Went to your link just for shits and giggles......its says .25% APY....APY = Annual percentage yield.........That means.......... YEARLY lol

As for making 20% per month...YES it is VERY VERY possible! If you can not make a 1% return trading your OWN ACCOUNT per day then you need to get back on demo till you can! You just have to not trade with your emotions and take every setup that the "system" you are using tells you to while applying proper money management.
I always risk a max of 5% at any given time with all open positions unless it is a "risk free trade". Here is a AudUsd M15 trade i took earlier where it was the only trade i had open so i risked 1% of my account and now have made 5% with 1% locked in....so now it is a "risk free trade" and i can just take gains off it as i please.

absolute possible. I am for 50% return each month, but i consistently get 25-32% return monthly for 1 year now.

Hi…. you say that you are not new in forex but it seems that you haven't realized the most important thing: all you need is to have a real trading plan and money management skills. If you can implement a good strategy (which where most of the traders fail), you will earn money. How much money? It depends on your strategies but 20% is a number that you probably won't achieve every month. How much do you make today? if you do not earn any money, try to end up 3 months in arrow with a positive account of even few dollars. I f you manage to do that, it means that you have a winning strategy and you are on the right way

Dont think too much about that just yet...

Its time to listen, understand and accept, this is the last time I will say this...

1. Trade with an amount which correlates so you can loose 15-20 times before you have to decrease the amount you trade with (static size).
2. Start to think overall net profit in pips...
3. When you have sufficient data you can tweak it a bit if you are as I suspect trying to grow your account...
4. Understand that the method or system itself is not making you money, its how you handle your losses and money management... the simpler the better (if its not boring you are doing something wrong)..

I am saying this cause a question like that would only come from someone who aren't consistently profitable...

When you have reached the goals above you aren't done, you have to be able to accept the winnings... The more you accept the greedier you can be, I think the few of us that are reaching that step are so surprised that it actually works that they still do mistakes, I still do but far less than in 2002-3... However, put yourself in a winning position...

Think that you are suppose to make money from your account not grow your account... its a massive difference...

I am not growing my account and I play with a static amount, i have already made it very simple for myself cause I will never increase risk when a loosing position occurs... Which you guys have to do if you're trying to reach 1% a day...

Its all about average net positive.... and use limit orders... We arent keen on paying the spread are we?

Whether you are in agreement or not has absolutely no bearing on what other traders' returns are.

Newbies think in terms of returns. Professionals think in terms of managing risk.

Another major difference between newbies and pros is that pros understand the implications of statistical fluctuation.

Even if you use limit orders, you still pay the spread. No matter what order types you use, you always buy at the ask price and sell at the bid price.

From my own experience 20% to 25% is doable till 150k using decent lower leverage . After that the problem goes with clearing your larger position and you cant be with marketmakers with that much money . Staying on ECN and executing larger orders is way to go to avoid requotes and slippage.

in this day and age if you want to be on top of the things in forex trading 20% is poket change. the real target should be above 60% monthly .

Its funny you picked the 20%/month figure. Six years ago I knew nothing about trading or the finance world and I didn't want to know. It was all bs by boring old fat bastards and did absolutely nothing for me.

That was until a guy I met said I could conservatively make 20%/month using secret charting technique called - Japanese candlesticks!

I did the figures and worked out I could be a millionaire in less than 3 years starting with 5k. I was hooked, the rest is history. I didnt make a million dollars. I lost 30k in 3 years but, I have achieved boring old fat bastard status

Many traders here claim they are making these returns. I have never seen a statement in a live account with these gains over a 12month period or even a 6month period. Closest I have seen is my own decimated account. I did much better than 20% per month for 5 months on record in my journal and then lost everything in the 6 month.

As for Larry Williams, that was a competition and he got lucky with market conditions at the time. Later he lost 60% ($1.25M)of his account in a not so cooperative market. Anyone who trades 2 million dollars and losses 60% is not a trader at all - thats called gambling and that was how I achieved my results also.

I am not saying it is not possible but trying to achieve a defined return was counter productive and costly for me

What I have learnt is that the best way to achieve really good gains, consistently, is to focus on decreasing losses, not on return targets. (aka risk management). The more I do this, the better my returns are.
