There's only two things bothering me about this whole thing tonight.

First, with ES down about 15, Aussie down one whole big figure just now, EUR heading south again but basically providing some of the ugliest scalp-rich chop possible, the bonds are nearly in a coma, and actually haven't moved from around 6 ticks down for the last hour.

Second, there's nobody here but us chickens.

Like in the old movies:

Well, I sees it like this OQ...

Been 2 days, not including today since we seen the DTEMA, and off of that was a 300 pip downswipe Friday, a 50 pip drop from weekly close to open, on the retail side of things followed by another 50ish down from there...

All those expecting a bounce are probably saying quiet little prayers or slapping themselves for trying to nut bottom...time and time and time again....

We have thwarted with daily open a couple of times, have only kinda seen some action off the 200 on M1, and we got a loooooooong ways to go for this bitch to actually find an area with some action.

Rocky roads? Oh, you betcha...just when ya figure ya might have it figured, it'll fuck ya...be sure of that.

The support on roll is what I am watching and with no hits on the DTEMA, I know what I am looking for on targets.

Running this bitch tight, but, not really concerned with another exodus as of yet, still to many books to clear from last week, CHINO having the biggest reason for needing a little higher price.

Just my thoughts...

The big problem is it's real data hungry, and doesn't have a recursive definition (where you can get this bar's value from last bar's value by one or two "updating" calculations). Even in 5 sec, a couple hundred multiplies here and a couple hundred there, and pretty soon you're using some clock cycles.

So, question: you comfortable with Hull for high response, low lag ma? Did you ever run any beauty contests of Hull against some other candidates?

London Roll, Friday, 1.3662ish, and the bottoms for them is pretty close to that line, suspect we at least test resistance before chopping much lower, but I will be more interested to see what side of NY roll price opens for Frankie and London.

Color me the Sucker in the room, but typically a 2 day run with no DTEMA is a great reason for counters, at least to that line.

I work with NoLag v7.1, even posted the histogram version a few pages back and for the sensitivity that I run and with confirmation, running similar on the Hulls ain't much different.

Depending on who ya talk to, or the time frame traded, and of course the trade pair personality, Hulls has a tendency, (Like all indicators) to be a touch on this side of laggy. But then again, when used as a confirmation or for support and triggers on trends, I find it to be much the same as working with my brand specific EMA's...I mean really, so, somebody went out and got all fancy to compare 2 time frames and figure out a way to complicate the hell out of comparing 2 EMAs...fast vs slow...there really isn't much magic to that, where the magic is, for me, is finding the relevant EMAs per trade pair, which ones are respected, which ones get ignored and comparing them in the different time frames...

I know you are the Math guy, where as me, I am the blinkey lights and pretty lines kinda guy. I guess if I wanted to get all deep into things, I could probably work things out a little more to the nuggets, but even at that, as what has always been said about market, is something is only true until it ain't, and hitting the whips and skips, that really doesn't often take that much.

The visual comparison and trend identification based on the range of profit for me is what really counts. When ya hit 4-6 trade pairs and are watching for the golden nuggets off the M1 charts, hitting perfection really isn't a part of my equation, just having more wins then losses.

Will support hold, will resistance fail, do we assume the targets as reversals or just hold on to a couple of shekles while price decides what it will do...

All the standard stock trading questions, and even off the M1 charts, I give em up a little quick when I don't like the smell of the trade.

The line I think you would like to play with and compare is Velocity, again, posted a few pages back. I think the math on this one, and again, comparison in the different time frames superimposed on the faster charts might be a little something to add into you mixed bag o market favs.

Thanks, I'll look at Velocity; I just downloaded it from your link and am going to reverse engineer it tomorrow. The reason I want it is closely related to the first point you made in the quote above: We're building, basically, a scalper based on calculated s&r levels (with some decay logic that I'm not going to bore you with). The problem isn't that it isn't doing some pretty good trading, but that it's just trading way to much. So, I figure if the whole thing gets run through a tuneable low pass filter with very little lag, that it won't trade quite as much. Trade profit is averaging around 4, but with a half to the house in commission until you reach around a billion a month (about 50m a day), that's too small for my taste.

Anyway, thanks for the info on Hull. The implementation problems on lowLag are pretty onerous, though; I'm looking forward to looking at Velocity.

I have had a few of them smart robots trade a little too many times. AI learning scripts that worked okay in a market with range, but when the fit hit the shan, and at market open one day, I think it ran some 200 trades, exiting them as fast as it could enter. With a zero spread, that bitch woulda still lost money...

Not one much for robots, but I don't doubt their abilities nor worth, just haven't found one I would trust with anything bigger then a micro...

Going to show you an example of my charts. Of the things you will be able to spot, trend identifier, No Lag below 200EMA. Cross down on Velocity and trips down on OSMA (color candles). The trigger on trend...MACD red, Price below 200EMA and No Lag...No lag seperate sets histo red, cci red...and of course the Down arrow is an EMA cross. All ducks in a row, push the button...again, blinkey lights and pretty colored lines....

That's the kinda shit I am looking for and depending on my market perception will ride for a few or scale out...all depends on the session and time o day.

This ride, I was just sitting down to dinner, so missed it...will catch the next wave.
