Agree. And the mass perceptions are exactly that as well. If I were going to own another retailier, that would be it. Don't know if you've ever been in an "urban footprint" Target, but they have very efficient design for urban in-fill stores, which is something about which WalMart is clueless.

By the way, when do real trades/indications begin to appear on (US time) Sunday afternoon?

I've never paid any attention to that. Only doing so now because my black swan sense is tingling.

Either Oanda is trying to get itself flat, or somewhere in the world is opening.

There's been some twitching in their "market" to the upside; just back to where they were when they started a few hours ago.

And now (15:05E) at 25 - 33 and showing some life.

Actually right now in free-fall. Just cut the handle downside.

Something or some bodies are offering this down. Oanda isn't going to get this far out in front of things on the basis of retail action. Took it down to a 3580 number on the mid.

Is that it? Wellington? I had it logged at 5Eastern, not 3Eastern. But that makes sense.

Yeah, the G7 was a train wreck. Little reports of one lecturing the other, news stores of the Americans, Brits, Germans, all accusing one another of something.

Headlines like ""Orderly Insolvency for Greece Cannot be Ruled Out" says German Economy Minister" and "U.S. Senior Official Blames Eurozone for "75% of the Dark Things Happening in the World"

And not from Z H, either.

Bonds and credit were betting it strong Friday afternoon. And Goldman is calling for QE from anybody who owns a printing press (and presumably even a good color laser printer would do.)

Just looking at my Windows clock and they are 12 hours ahead of us in the UK and it's 8.00pm here, so it's an educated guess really.

Absolutely the ONLY thing which will stop the markets taking the piss out of all this uncertainty are coordinated actions.
What the hell is there to stop Euro falling hard over the next 2-3 sessions?

Downgrades tomorrow on French banks, Greece is Greece, the ECB are in turmoil and the German public have had their fill.

oanda price starts moving at 3pm usually, anyway i sold the last of my longs and took a toe-dip short on aussie at the open.. have another short order higher at 1.05 if it decides it wants it

Yeah, but generally it's not a bad idea to fade the first panic. Back when you had to pick up the phone to do an order, a certain big grain speculator had a piece of cardboard taped to his phone, so that he would have to scrape the tape off to be able to call the floor. That gave him a little time to think.

I myself dislike holding trades over the weekend, especially now that I didn't know whether someone might fart, puke or intervene in any market.

I think, on Friday it was you late in the afternoon who hinted on further gains for the USD, wasn't it?

But a possible bounce is near.
