Sorry...missed your post earlier, Q...thread was hopping, I guess.

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce...aka...CIBC on the street.

Not entirely sure on what is causing them the stress, but I've been trying to find out a little, because they have been on top of that list for a while now. Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is up there, too. I know there problems we're tied to trying to expand into the US at an alarming rate. They took over some weak banks...mostly South East States. Put their name on the arena in Raleigh, NC...then ran in to troubles. I believe they're dumping a lot of that off now.

CIBC...I haven't found the biggest source yet. Will poke around some more this weekend and see if I can up with some meat.

No. Haven't looked at margins in a week, but they're all way up. Think about that one: 125K CHF (dollar quoted, so CHF/USD). What's that do to futures leverage?

From the looks of the ZB and UB (long bond and ultra long bond), EUR (or the banks) had a near-death experience today. Not contract highs (they were reached on the 6th during the Swiss announcement), but the momentum was really something: more like impulse.

Pulled back a little now, but that of course can be seen in the EUR.

we didn't get a normal bounce from #1. im bearish. trying not to have a bias. the trend is lower. but not having the normal pullback for #1 is st bullish.
the chart shows #2 and a normal looking move.. dont know if we will get to or past 3733.5... this is a big monthly mid.. #3 predictive is 3879....we havent got to #3 mid area yet. so #2 move should be undistorted.

Certainly "felt" like the train was leaving the tracks. Pretty serious weekly candle, too. Nearly 2008 proportions...very well endowed!

Only a handful that size looking back, really....beautiful monster up bar in December 2008, though...1330ish in a week! I'd say the powers that be are quite happy to see the bleeding stop for today.

This a voting among the members of the FDP itself. Number of members: around 68.000, they need to ask 5% of it. So if the majority of the 5% says no to any more bailouts, they are going to send the result to... yes, who? Merkel?

Hi Gator,

what a field day today :-)

EW wise and momentum wise we may have seen the wave 3 of a wave 3.

I suspect that we will see much of a bounce. Typical target would be now 3732 to 3763. After that we will drop in a wave 5, or wave 3 will extend.

Ideally should this whole downward move reach the area around 1.28 -1.29 before any meaningful bounce.

Hope my count is correct :-)
