Does anyone trade MBT through cashbackforexusa.com (Excel Markets)? If so, how is it? Anything I should know?

True, the spikes I showed were 3 years ago, but I see spikes 3 days ago at 17:00est (rollover period) on 9/5 on AUD/CAD. Regardless if trades are executed based on that spike, it distorts the daily chart.

Also, I've seen more spike issues with tick charts, regardless if it's my demo or my live account. Attached is an example from GBP.

Also, if I have a ray that goes back a long time, often times that ray is misplaced on lower time frames, such as 15min. All these charting issues make me want to go back to futures

Any word on the...

Poundtrader,

I don't know anything about your demo account number, but I am sure it has never been blocked. If you have a problem with the Demo account, just ask support to look at it, or register for a new one. Either will work fine.

If you need me to look into it personally, just send me a private message with the number and I will look.

Poundtrader,

The only case where we would lock a Demo account is if the customer was using it to pound on our servers in excess of our threshold. As for website logins, we would never block that at all for anyone unless too many failed attempts, so please get me the details and I will see what is going on.

Yes, MBT is better.
You can 'beat' the spread, buy on the bid, sell on the offer.

Is this in theory, buy on the bid and sell at the offer or have you been able to do it in practice in real trading with this MB ECN? I have never been able to do it, although I tried many times until I gave up as being imposible with them. I have been the best bid or best ask many many times, as I tested it and would move my order 10th of pip to always be the best bid or ask and not once was the order executed, unless the price moved substantially changing the bid and ask but that is not buying at the bid and selling at the ask...that can be done with any broker if the price takes out the bid or ask and moves the length of the spread, ECN not ECN or butcket shop. This is ECN is unlike other ECNs, don't know if it is low liquity or order flow design problems, but whatever it is, it ain't going to happen unless they changed something with the way their orders are routed recently. They state that the ECN has priority execution but it is not the way it works in real trading with them.

Oops sorry. MBT logo used to be a bull skeleton so you fit right in.

I'm a current MB account holder however, my account is dormant since I've been trading at Oanda.

I was looking into the getting paid for limit orders promotion and was struck by the ambiguity in the disclaimer (posted below).

Who defines "immediately executable" & "some period of time"?

These phrases seem wide open to interpretation and thus someone deciding that my/your limit orders don't qualify. This is reminding me of Clinton's "it depends on what your definition of the word "is" is.

Anyone?

1The term "Payment for Limit Order" refers to a non-market order which is not immediately executable and rests on the internal limit order book for some period of time, thus adding liquidity when another order of equal or greater value fills with the resting order. The Actual Total Paid to Clients number is updated every five minutes and stops counting during the weekend when the market is closed. The number calculates from the launch of Pay for Limits, which was January 31, 2011. Due to higher cost of business in China, “Get paid for limit orders” is not available for Chinese residents. All Chinese residents have a fee of 2.95 for all order types. Accounts with special commission rates are excluded from Payment for Limit Orders. There is a minimum fee of $0.01 for all Forex and spot trading orders that take liquidity.

I have been paid for every limit order that was accepted and rested in the liquidity pool and was then hit and filled.

They are not parsing language in the agreement and combing through every order looking for ways they can argue their way out of paying. My experience with them since 2008 is that they are very customer conscious and responsive, and for them to try to wiggle out of paying would just be out of character.

Best way to find out for yourself is to give it a go. I don't use limits on every order, but I look for places to do so more often and more diligently than I have in the past, because it does make deep impact on my trading costs. And that drops staight down to my bottom line.

It's pretty simple, really. If the quote is 5 by 7 and you place an order to buy at 6, that is "not executable" at the time that the order is received. That means that your bid of 6 becomes the best bid to the market. That means that if you get hit, you get paid because it spent time on the ECN.

The language is to clarify (not confuse) the issue that just because you use a Limit order doesn't mean you get paid if the Limit can be executed at the time it arrives. So in the same example above, market is 5 by 7, you place a Limit order to buy at 7. That's executable immediately, you don't get paid. You only get paid when your Limit tightened the spread and added liquidity for others.

I want to use desktop pro/ navigator but I find it to hard to scalp etc. It is hard to place orders in between the bid/ask especially when you cancel orders and make lots of trades.

In mt4, you can trade off the charts. You can see your order and just use your mouse.

Any suggestions how to do this on the other platforms. I really don't want to use mt4 anymore.

In the future updates they should really have it so you can trade off the charts.

It strikes me as rather strange as to why any broker would want to do regular maintenance in the middle of the Asian session.

Surely the period between rollover and the start of the Asian session would be more suitable.
