Can Anyone Help fix this indicator, i wanna make indicator that if pair reach 100% Average Range it will give alert, and so far this will repeatly give alert. i have minor coding experience, and i need help for the expert.. thanks... see attachment Plz.. Thanks.

I am using MT4, build 401. I am trying to have an email sent to my cell phone when a pop up alert is triggered on my chart. I have custom indicators on my chart and they trigger an audible alert in little alert window. That part is good. Under TOOLS>>OPTIONS>>Email tab, I set up my email and hit test button...it sends to my cell phone great. So that part works. Email and Events tab are both checked to enable. If I go to Terminal and click on Experts tab, my alerts in the alert window are there. But when an audible alert is triggered by indicator, it does show in little alert window (which I want), but it does not send email. What am I missing?

I do not wish to have a send email function added to all custom indicators,is their an alternative way around this?

Let's review the basics:

The MQL4 Alert() command displays the familiar on-screen pop-up alert.

The SendMail() command will send an e-mail, provided that you have the options in the Email tab set up correctly.

Then - and this depends on your telecoms provider - it's possible to get e-mails re-routed to your cellphone.

Anyway, it sounds like you have all of this set up correctly, since the Test button is sending a message to your phone.

So it would seem that, for each occasion/condition you want an alert to be sent, you'd need to add a SendMail() command into the MQL4 code, immediately after the Alert() command. If the alert pop-up is occurring, but no e-mail/phone message, then that would seem to be the only possible reason/solution.

Either that, or there is some Win7/Vista related problem, which - as an XP-only user - I'm unqualified to answer.

I REALLY like the MT4 platform...I have a custom indicator that I bought that I use for Forex,oil, and Indices. I would like to be able to use it for Stocks, ie google for example. Is there anyway I can get stock data into MT4? Not historical data, but realtime?

If not ( which it looks it may not be possible.) what other platforms are compatible with MT4 custom indicators?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I'm new here, and a new MT4 user. So... I have some questions.

- How can I know when the last candlestick of my chart will be completed?
- Is there a way to see graphically all the trades I've done on my charts?
- I haven't found how to draw small lines on the charts, ones that have a limited length.
- Can we modify SL and TP directly on the chart? Because I find if difficult to have to fill the form with numbers.

If you know how to solve any of this problem... thanks!

Press Ctrl-T to load the Terminal, then go to the Account History tab. Move the mouse to a trade, and drag it onto your MT4 price chart (which must be the same currency pair as that used for the trade).

- I haven't found how to draw small lines on the charts, ones that have a limited length.
Select Properties for the object (i.e. the line). Go to the Parameters tab and uncheck the Ray checkbox. Then, with the line selected, you can drag the right and left handles (the little squares at the ends of the line) to lengthen or shorten the line. Or the middle handle to move the line around.

- Can we modify SL and TP directly on the chart? Because I find if difficult to have to fill the form with numbers.
I have written a complete visual order management system for MT4 but it's a commercial product. If you want a free system, try this.

Sorry if my question wasn't very clear, but what I'm looking for is a countdown next to the last candle saying something like "13 seconds left".

Hi!

I'm a new member of this amazing site! So, first of all, congratulations! Forex factory is realy a MUST in forex trading!)

I'm also a newbie in MT4 platform and I've got a question about it..

How can I see the daily percentages of the pairs? Is there any way to customise the Market Watch table in order to see that information? That would be exactly what i'm looking for...

If not, does someone know about some indicator(?) that gives that info in a table?

if we can't use MT4 for this, we can allways use a indicator.

Hi. I suggest using a MT4 broker that offers CFD's. It will list stocks and you can pull up a price-chart just like you can for forex, metals, etc.

Depends what you mean by "daily percentage of pair" - percentage relative to what?

Anyway, it probably wouldn't be too hard for a programmer to write an indy to do this.

[EDIT] This indy can be made to display the daily move from the open, both in pips, and as a % of the daily open price...... if that's what you're looking for.

That's a way to do what I need! I will study the code in order to adapt it to my needs.

But what I was realy looking for is to show the % of the daily open price in the "Market Watch" window.

Is it possible to make changes/customisations of the "Market watch"?

hi, I saw this EA with png signals for cross over. I found a folder for this EA where are all this S+B pictures as png saved. But I have no idea how I can do this in my own EA?
I know that I can use SetIndexStyle (0, DRAW_ARROW,0,1) but how can I upload into mt4 this png-signals?

Chris,

As far as I know, embedding PNG files as MT4 objects isn't possible, at least not without doing some fancy programming outside MQL4.

The only way I can think of coming anywhere close to this would be to edit the Wingdings font using a font editor. All of MT4's arrow symbol codes map directly into the Wingdings font.
