Speaking of fishies...

Does anyone currently have a saltwater with live rock aquarium running?

I've only done freshwater so far... Got a little 35 gallon tank. Found some bright fresh water fish but my tank looks about as fake as it can get with the stones and 'plant life' in it.

Been thinking about buying a 70 - 100 gallon tank with sump filtering system and running a full out live rock setup in it.

Did a few years ago in Ireland. Little more work, obviously...but worth it. My nephews would sit and stare for 4+ hours...right at full-on "monkey" age, too.

no dont do it.....30 / 35 gal is the shiz with SW....go get some soft corals....mushrooms an rocks.....it will be the shiz in a few weeks....u got metal halide lamps....protein skimmer / refugium?

Yep. Absolutely. Nothing I am afraid of though. It really is a de-stresser. Can get lost in the tank for hours on end.

No, I do not have anything required for a salt water setup. Would need to purchase all anew.

My parents way back in the day use to have a tank dedicated to sea horses. Those were the best.

Damn straight. I was lucky, too. The guy that I bought everything from for years was literally right around the corner. He would come by every couple of weeks (or sooner if something wasn't right) to check on everything. In exchange, I would let him show the setup if people were serious about wnting to do the same. I miss it.

$500 and u are a rock star with SW....water changes and thats it....easy peezy....now u go to 50+ gal's in SW its a night mare

lol... but, tank crash is easier to manage as well. I am currently looking at a sump filtration system as it is... which, i'm already pretty sure is overkill for a 35 gal.
