Watching snippets of coverage here through the day and it looks like she died down as soon as she hit landfall. Cool scenes earlier when they showed NY and people wandering through the streets when the eye was overhead, not a car in sight. Looked like one of those day after's from a disaster movie...

Anyone here catch Trichet's speech from yesterday? Bennie mentions close "cooperation" with EU, and Tricky mentions that the EU is very similar to the US when it comes to diverse "combined" economies.

Other then that the whole speech was rubbish.

Ah well, nothing new there, expect loads more swaps.

Ol Boy went southpaw on Okami and I just don't think he knew what to do at that point.

Calling them on cell? Many places lost power. Land lines are no good. High grounds are ok from flood.

On a side note, Ceres is the roman goddess of agriculture, and grain. She sits a top of the CBOT building, which has to be on of the most impressive buildings in the world. I may have been a Merc Jerk, but I always had the utmost respect for the Board.

PS. If you click on the enclose pic, you might be able to make out that Ceres has a completely blanck face..

PSS, Glad you had a good time brother, damn shame I wasnt right there with ya..

Yeah, it's interesting she doesn't have a face... I was there many times. A lot of movies were shot on LaSalle in that area also..

Heard a story yesterday when I was at the CBOT building. I gather there is a related building somewhere in the locale that has a statue of a horse outside of it. If two traders were crossing paths and really pissing one another off, one of them was likely to say...I'll see you at the horse later! I would assume depending on how the day finished up, there could have been a punch-up. Kind of like in school...right...I'll...
Here is the actual horse, its behind the CBOT, closer to the CBOE, and yes the stories are true. A punch to the face was usually a 25K fine, and a 3/5 day suspention of trading privelages. Not that that stopped people however...
