Justin,

Is there any chance that MB Trading would consider changing to servers that use an NYC close? What I mean by that is for instance the 4 hour candles close at 9AM, 1PM, 5PM (NYC Time) etc. Why do certain brokers use different close times. It sounds like many institutional traders trade of that specific close. Any insight would be helpful. I currently use the FxPro demo for my charting (because they use this close) and enter orders though MBTrading.... I like MBTrading but would love to be able to use the MT4 charts so thought I would...

They had been rumored to be switching to GMT +1 or something a month or two ago to make the charts line up as 5 equal days of the week, but I never saw any follow through.

Is the UK based operation still considered to be in 'beta' testing mode?

Wow. The dirrerence between their MT4 chart pricing and the Pro platform was as much at 12 pips. WTF is going on here? It sure makes trading difficult. And spare me the explanation of liquidity. That doesn't have a thing to do with it. Those prices should be the same. Been using them for years and find this very frustrating. It's not a slippage issue, it's the inability to make a decision due to the huge discrepancies.

Has nothing to do with liquidity. They both execute through the same systems. It has to do with quote servers and the way Pro charting is rendered.

E-Money,

I am using them both and have not noticed the difference, although I have had plenty of time to miss it. Could you point out a time when it happened so I can see if it is the same with mine?

By the way, no matter how long I stare at the MT4 chart next to the Desktop Pro chart, they always show the same data. I've heard that there is a rendering issue, it has been discussed on these forums, and I don't really stare at MT4 all day anyway, but I really can't see this issue you guys keep having with their charts.

See attached.

I doubt that would be possible. Desktop Pro averages costs, MT4 keeps separate positions.

sometimes it's useful, that's true, but as long as your risk per trade do not exceed ca. 1,5% 50:1 is aceptable, in my opinion at least
hedging & 100:1 that would be the kicker

It was right around the 9 am hour. Just before my post. The mt4 froze and the pro was jumping down. It might have been one of those things you have to see when it happened. eventually it shows the right candle. However, when trading, and watching the chart, and it freezes, and your pro platform is going wild, something is wrong. I don't buy the explanation of some server method with pro. I also had IBFX charts up and they worked just fine. The issue is with them.

The issue was not with the two charts. It was between mt4 freezing and the execution window where the price is displayed was going crazy. not the chart on the pro platform. That is where the issue is.

You know that "OffQuotes" when you close a position that closes anyway just means that you got filled in more than one piece coming out of the trade, right? Doesn't mean anything is wrong. In other words, if you have a 10 lot position and it fills 5 and 5, Meta is dumb and says "OffQuotes" and only shows the 5 until you refresh or open/close. But the execution is fine and the OffQuotes means nothing.

Maybe it's only me, but I noticed Desktop Pro are always getting stuck between 4am and 6am NY time. Right now it is 05:45am and I can't load any chart for an hour already.

Just a bit of info for MBT developers.

Plamen

p.s. The attached screen is the one i am staring almost an hour for now :-) I didn't change currency on purpose, just to see how long it would take to load.

You are right but small trader are attracted to MBT because they want to try out an ECN broker. They just can stay with Oanda or open with LMAX

Or they can get a job (or second job) and save up some money. Christ we are talking about a mere $200. He should ask his ask Mom, maybe she will lend him the extra cash. This is ridiculous.
