first, congrats on the day Mr. Dean! Secondly, I just want to verify the period setting for the TMA. The default appears to be 56. Is that the setting to leave it at? Thanks for everything.

Hi Guys,

Hope you don't mind me tagging along!

I just took +10 on this GU long trade but not sure if it followed the rules.

I saw this as mildly striking (band not too steep and recent rangy action).

The higher low (double bottom?) followed by decent momentum gave me confidence.

Didn't have the balls to hang on for the top band hit as I don't trust initial reversal moves.

What do you think?

Klax, there is a whole thread on that topic here on FF. I am in EST in the US so I am waking up as well. I figure once the account is big enough and skills are sharp enough, I can trade just NY session and not wake anymore. However, if US stays on current political and fiscal course, I might consider a move!

Many thanks for the great thread. From what I've read so far the Striking/Mildly Striking definition is based on both PA and the angle of the band.

In the attached chart I see a striking band angle but the PA is very rangy suggesting a possible reversal. I realise that price has to cross the mid band for a SMBT to be considered but if it did - does the prior PA negate the setup please?

And does price have to close above the mid-band or just penetrate for a SMBT? Cheers!

I'm live with AU long I t looks like a MSCT. First MSCT I've tried. Double bottom off the the lower band. It looks MS to me but maybe S? Valid?
EDIT: Just reviewed the rules. Risky trade as the stop loss if set below the Low would be @22. A bit higher than we want. As I edit this it's not looking good.

That was a big reversal bar which is good but it didn't leave much room to the upper band after spread and buffer are added - I could only see room for about 5 pips on my chart.

I agree. risk to reward is terrible. I entered on a slight pullback so I have 10 to the upper band but still not good.
Klaxon's chart is different than mine. My SMBT red RF didn't happen till the long red candle after Klaxons. But it looks like Klaxon will put my money in his bank.

Nice job Klax and Sutts. It seams like the EU, EJ, AU charts look very similar. Although the AU isn't in as strong of a down trend

it s strange, the EJ setup you have on your chart is more like EU setup on my chart !
