EUSUSD - SBT Long

only concern is that the move down to the lower band was quite strong

EDIT: Out for 1.6 pips, had real problems on the first resistance point of the mid-line, as I already had concerns because of the retrace strength I bailed

dear brainjt...
i was not right... i am luck if i get even half the time right..

I was within my plan of trading, instead of being all over the place and trade different styles every other day of the week..
This is your edge.. in this vast of sea.. that's all you got, YOU and your PLAN.. there is no secret to be successful.

I hope everyone gets the hint of what i am trying to teach and stress here..

I am still learning from the many examples posted so don't beat me up too bad. I considered the EJ midly striking and saw weakness at the upper band with several candles with wicks. Exited at the mid-line on the stall with 12pips. I appreciate any feedback.

its good daytrade5 a bit aggressive but worth a shot..
the band was between Neutral and mild..
but just to keep it in back of your mind, make sure if you see mild striking-er wait for the DT/DB, that's just according to the plan.. you are the master commander and if you feel its not striking too hard like this time how you felt, take a chance..
nice bank anyhow.. good job

Hi P.Dean,

I see that the distance from the mid to the top band differs much from the distance to the bottom band. Do you mean that?

PS: Could this give us a hint for the next direction to trade??

Cheers,
Olarion

Hi Olarion

just to clear something up, the distances shown next to the bands are the distance the Bid price is from the band

the distance between the upper & lower lines to the mid-band are the same, ie. exactly half of the TMA Range value

Regards
John

All of the markets shown appear to be more neutral relative to the trend with nice wide bands. Higher profit potential trading from the upper and lower bands????

Ok thanks for the involvements and comments..

As I pointed out.. the bands are way too wide inside a neutral position.. this is the sign of a very Imbalance market... meaning its moving up and down in a wide range for no or any reason.. each swing its a major deal of its own and it could be beginning of a something in the intended direction.. can't really count on it as a settled range Neutral band or a striking for mom sort of play.
state of imbalance is different than volatility.. so therefor i recommend when you see a Neutral band wider than the 35-40 pips, be wary.. bcz you could be setup getting involved in a middle of fire with wider risk than normal (sl over 25pips) for just a small profit burst to a possible quick turn for a loss.. RR at best would be 1:1 on a less than 50% hit ratio.
In pure Price Action term i would call this super Chop Monster.. but the bands also easily shows it especially that we got exact range showing in our charts (thanks to dear john).

anyways. this was a important note that i wanted to ping-point when it appeared live and it did today... I personally sit on my hands when I witness this.. its not full confirmation of you not making money in such situations, its just not the best or wisest time.. that's all.

I hope you'll find it useful.

to make this issue more clear i will use EU as a example..

As we see the bull move of +130 and bear move of +90... each are Monster of their own, and the 90 down move is not the pullback of the 130 bull up move.. each are big swings of their own for a possible new direction..
so bcz of such massive moves we get a Neutral WIDE BAND and not a settled regular one as for a normal PA move.. so now just because it looks Neutral it does not mean that it will bounce off either side to reach the other side of +50 distance when it has dropped 90.. are you with me!!!... i mean it could and anything is possible, but its not the most ideal and suitable time to get involved regardless of possible positive or negative result.. we trade what we see in real time and make decision in the now moment, and that's what its all about as we Price it Accordingly.
gotta see the PURE PRICE ACTION beyond the tools first and for most at all times and not get blinded of the reality of true price.

I hope its more clear and sticks.

Hello P.Dean,

I trade higher tf (4h and over) but from time to time I look to take scalp trades to keep my trigger finger happy. I have to admit I have never been successful with scalping. I'm doing OK with higher tf but I would like to succeed in scalping method as I like smaller stop trades.

I have seen many scalping methods and all of them failed on different market conditions. For example: range scalp method failed on trending day and trending scalp method failed on ranging day. Both range and trend scalping methods failed on choppy day.

Your scalping method is the only method that addresses range, choppy and trending conditions. I haven't fully read the thread yet but just after two pages it was very obvious you addressed all market conditions.

I will fully read the thread but the problem I have is: I'm unable to determine Neutral, Mildly Stricking and Stricking conditions until after it happens or until after so many bars.

For example: we see price reaching OB high of the band. How do we know it is neutral condition unless and until it drops to OS low of the band and bounce from there? Do we assume it is going to bounce from OB or OS condition and trade it as Neutral condition? Maybe I'm missing something. The problem is: How do we know whether it is neutral or stricking conditions before it happens? I have no problem to tell after it happens. But when it is happening live I can't tell whether it is in range or trending conditon.

Any suggestions please?

hi vijidas and welcome to the thread..

yes two suggestions..

1) read and re-read my posts in page 2 as i have explained each setup band looks and shapes.
2) come out and live trade with us or watch us live trade as i go step by step.. the real time visual and explanations goes a long way.

your concerns and questions are valid.. but follow with my suggestions and we'll talk more.. at the moment if i try to explain it in anyway of form it would still be cloudy to you, but don't worry if you really want it I/we get you up to speed.

good luck.

OK guys, i know i have not been actively live trading a full day yet this week, and mostly talking and commenting (which i hate.. lol.. i am action).. its all been due to my injured hand and doc checkups.. but i am set to go hard at it tomorrow for a full day trading.. I recommend to be here and ready along side of me if this is your chosen style of trading.

To me battles should be won before its even fought.. with my concept and trading Plan that's exactly how i feel for the past 2-3 years at least.. even when i lose occasionally i see myself as a winner bcz i know the core concept of what i do is correct and will win at the end if I am up to the par.. small set back should not shake or rattle only to make stronger to go at it even harder the next day.
I go on a tear to post 50 to 100 tomorrow unless it would be a real signal less day.

I'll see you all tomorrow, i start around franks open.

Cheers

Hi all. Well I highlighted this one and then had to pop out so missed it. Opinion request, Dean would you have exited at the mid band or held to the lower band?.
Identified as NT. RF not required as 1st candle after band break broke back in and closed inside bands. Time was 30 min after jap open.
The Asian chop chop session has taken on a whole new meaning now .

Live trade. Setup looks good NT setup. Lets see.

edit: 2 candles in and mid band broken...good sign

3rd candle closed back above mid band not so good

4th candle back under mid band and a new low but tail close...mixed sign

5th candle bullish and giving a strong RF buy signal maybe time to bail?

6th candle small wick price above being rejected

7th candle retesting the mid band

8th candle bounce of mid line, a wick close...have stuff to do now have Sl at 77.41 and TP at the bottom band of 77.16. Let's see what happens...
Dean comments please later on ???

OK I'm back at 6.00 GMT and notice my target was hit for a 9 pip win, some 21 candles later. Talk about tuff work !!!!

BTW Dean, I've subbed out UC for UJ since I'm trading Asian session.
