From Wednesday, I am hoping to do some live MOM trading to refine my ideas. From these will probably emerge a new robot that looks to trade MOM only.

Ignored
Cool ,best luck

Right I think most that were following "the Kevinator" trading have determined the MOMentum trades to be the best bet.

Think you have got a good handle on it

Rock...out

Hi Steve,

I have been trying my own MOM trade entry/exit triggers last week.

I tried the TMA direction for entry filter, but found that it kept me out of the market when I should have been in, so if you want you can bypass this test if you want... make it a last resort sort of filter if you do want to try coding it yourself.

I'm currently testing out an entry filter where I can go long if H4 stoch is under 80 and rising or it is over 80 and rising AND the H1 stoch is still rising, vice versa for shorts using the 20 line.

I'm also testing out an exit filter that is based on the stoch reverse signals.

Steve,

I just came across this post.

I haven't tried it yet, but maybe it's something you may want to try on your live MOM trades.

Just to keep everyone in touch.

I have had limited time for live manual trading this week. I am still working on my manual trading MOM strategy and broke even.

The EA on demo managed to end the week in profit, trading MOM. I shall replace the ea should my manual strategy turn out to be a winner this coming week.

I am coming to enjoy whip's regular sign-off so: have a great weekend everyone.

I have been doing the same using the original set of indicators but instead of using the 1 hour stoch, i've been using 30 min. I've also changed the entry signal after looking at the charts, but still working on my exit - currently exiting just short of the opposite TMA band - very safe, I may need to incorporate BE and/or close half position at opposite TMA band and one of your trade management stops to further increase profits.

But for now i have to get my entry signal correct and still flexible to end up in profit.

Happy Weekend!

This is my first post so I apologize in advance if I am not doing the right thing.

Thank you Steve and Kelvinator for sharing this wonderful EA which I just discovered over the weekend.

Attached is a snapshot of how Steve's EA caught the very top of the retracement of the 5m USDCHF pair.

Thank you all for sharing.

Yes, thanks Kelvinator for making my beer nice and cold

Back on topic... Steve, are you still refining your MOM entry & exit?

I have stopped refining mine, but then again it's kept me out of the market at the most opportune times. Not much trades coming out of my entry signals so I'm giving it a rest for now.

hello everyone,
i am curious. anyway we can martingale this method? with the ea?
what i mean is obviously the tp will not be the outer tma line. the tma indicator will need to continue redrawing, but we will need to avoid new entries close to our original price. does this make sense?

If anybody downloaded the latest before the 'last updated' message in post 1, please note the StopLoss should be 40, not 0.

Steve, what are you going to do? Hopefully you will return with your efforts on the MOM! Is there not additional work to be done? Also, you mentioned dotted lines outside of the TMA True lines as an entry position; where do these dotted/dashed lines originate? I must thank you for your brilliant work here and please do not leave us.
Many thanks,
66trader66

Which bit of this post http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...73#post4815573 is causing you such confusion?
