Does Dukascopy take risk against their clients?

Can anyone clarify this? They take risk against their clients.

Could you describe what a "fake ECN" mean? and why do you think that way?

So is dukascopy a trustable broker to place millions of dollars? They show pricing and volume at their platform......Does that make it transparent enough?

what is the minimum sum to invest in jpmorgan spot forex? It is not stated on their website

Dear FF Forum readers, for some odd reason the following needs re-posting; here we go then again, sorry about this:



Understanding what you do, and what it's all about is important, very, important:

May I have you read this please:

There is when looking to trade electronically spot-FX, Bank and none-Bank liquidity. Within those 2 types of liquidity you will have Real Interest, and, 'last look' provision-liquidity.

With an ideal Broker setup/a true multi-bank trading venue setup, you want your trades STP'd direct to Bank liquidity (matching your order requests to 'unpadded/core' pricing and with no 'dealing-desk' intervention) such a setup is very hard to find, I would say, almost impossible, almost. (Rabobank now offer as being CCP for $500k-$1m accounts - but, you will need to do your monthly T/O's otherwise you are not being considered as lucrative enough; we're of course talking Yards here.)

Further, if you want to really eliminate the last bit of 'conflict of interest', you might want to build a separate Bank stream for your ''in's'' and another second segregated Bank stream for your ''out's''. Bearing in mind that when building such, that you will have aggressive price streamers (ie Barx), less aggressive ones(ie CS), and, conservative ones too (ie Soc Gen). (but of course, this is taking the 'elimination of conflict of interest' to the extreme, but depending on your trade rejection stats/trading strategy, deemed necessary).

You want to have a platform/front-end that is able to provide you with the state of the art technology letting you select to pick and choose which Bank streamer or LP - and, to have/ or, not to have streamed none-Bank liquidity.

Furthermore, you want to think if you run a short term strategy if it really is beneficial to your trading executions to have ECN liquidity - meaning, also to be matched against other clients of your broker's hub (client-to-client matching), and, in general, to even allow altogether to be matched against none-bank liquidity.

You want to avoid at any cost a broker that is unable to provide you with transparent liquidity and above all, you want to avoid like the plague a broker that is able to match/has the ability to match your trades on his B-book/be your CP.

You might ask, transparent tailor made liquidity can such be found? It can. Have a look at the attached screenshots.

Transparency is the key. There are (only) 2 'mainstream' platform-liquidity-aggregation-technology-providers that can and are able to provide you with such a functionality - however, when going further into depth there really only remains one that is actually turning out to being 'the real deal'. (I will not mention names, sorry)

Again to sum it up, you want:

- Raw pricing (no mark-up/'core' pricing executable streaming liquidity)
- Time slicing/block set to a maximum of 100ms
- Transparent liquidity
- 4.1: Best being, being able to pick and choose you LP's
- 4.2: Second best, having at least the ability to choose between disclosed and none-disclosed liquidity, to also mean, having the ability to choose between Bank and none-Bank liquidity
- And also, to only be matched via HubGiveUp routing being able to choose your CP/CP-hub routing.

And finally, you definitely want to give a further thought and another glance looking to trade Futures (including mini's) via the CME.

PS: you tell me now please after reading the above, where exactly does Dukascopy, or as a matter of fact, most of the 'High Street' Brokerage houses fit in, or better said, fit the bill??

i plan to switch to futures asap but for that my account has to grow a bit first
i would not feel comfortable to trade futures with less than 20000€...

Agree, the fact is that the majority of the Brokers will first protect their liquidity providers

So in other words, MB Trading for all of it. Forex and futures, and everything you listed.
