Wow, The Tokyo mkt just opend and GBPUSD dropped like a rock.
With the 4 Hour short that started on the 20th, it just closed one of my shorts at the tunnel. A nice 95 pips... Thanks Vegas.

I have a full time job and don't have the luxury of watching the screens all day during reversal trades. It's very tough for me to follow vegas 3 concepts as you need to be looking at the screen thru out the day and have to do day trading to get the best entry possible.

I use discretion considering price action (as explained by Jim), Vegas 4hr signals, fib retracements, long term resistance and support to decide my entries. I can't move the trade to B/E so fast as full time traders and I would allow my trades to float around for some time. Doing part time, I have to take more risk than vegas. Since he is doing day trading he gets the best entries and quick exits if trade is not coming off good.

Discretion is very tough to explain the rules since it varies for every trade. I went long with aud/usd mainly because there a nice daily PIN bar forming yesterday and price was at take profit fib of 4hr vegas model and also near long term support trendline.

If I have chance to do full time trading, I would look forward to follow only vegas 3 concepts and pick the cream of VWB trades.

That does help. You're just looking at more info than I am at the moment. Still have a ways to go before I get comfortable with this model.

Only thing I'm watching right now is AUDUSD. Hoping for a signal soon.

I also work during the day. Here is how I overcome the inconvience of not being able to watch the markets during the day...

I get up around 6 AM EST and look at any open positions I have. Then I open MT4 and look for entry or exit signals on the Daily, 4 Hr and 1 Hr charts. Go to work. During lunch I go to a restaurant that has WiFi and check the markets. I also do the same on the way home. When I get home I check again and a couple times before the day ends.

When I open a position I put in a limit order as to get a good price. This almost always works. Right now I am long AUD/USD. If there is not a good move by lunch I put in a sell for whatever I think I can profit from it. I usually get between 10 and 30 pips.

At the end of the day I have my laptop next to my bed. I almost always wake up in the middle of the night so I look at the charts then. If something is brewing I act accordingly.

Not the ideal way to trade. However, having my stop at 100 pips from the entry keeps me from getting stopped out.

So far this has worked very well.

I believe this thread was opened for the input of other than purest VWB trading. {If others disagree, I'm sure they will say so.}

Hi Shan.

Your inputs to this thread are very good and I for one enjoy reading them. We will all have our own ways of doing things and that is what trading is about. Hopefully people reading these posts will take bits from all who post and come up with there own system. Keep up the good work.

Guys I though I read somewere in Vegas post as far as the EUR/CHF was concerned, it closed above the first fib line after Vegas was stoped out of a short position on the 3/17/06 if I remember right didnt Vegas say that at the time he was not wating for a reversal candle ,but instead waiting until prices breach the 2nd fib line .I was just wondering if the same would apply to the AUD/USD ...instead of looking for another reversal signal , look for a breach of the 3rd fib line .If the AUD is in a strong down trend wouldnt wating for the breach of the 3rd line save us on a punch of stop outs .

It is great stuff. Even if it is not acted on It gives us a heads up for what to look for. Thenks much, your charts keep me on my toes. Keep it up.

Don't Stop! Please!!!

Your posts are a good learning tool even though you are not exactly on the VWB track you are pretty darn close. Also, for those of us at work who can't use MT4 your charts help let us know what is going on with the currency pairs.

If someone out there wants to take the lead on a valuable tool for us working days you could post a pic of Oanda's trade page that shows the currency pair prices. That would be greatly appreciated.
First of all i just want to say hi to everybody . I've been reading this forum for a while but this is my first post. I want to thank everybody that posted , great ideas , but i want to thank especially Vegas for everything he had done to help us help us!

What happend this morning with the USD? it jummped through the roof. Is it going to come back i wonder? especially in regard to Aud/USD? is the pair going back down like it was in 2004? any thoughts about it?

This is the best forum I have visited lately. All of You do really appreciated work here. I am a newbie to trading this method and I understand the theoretical concept. When demotrading, I did correct analyses and wasnīt hesitating when the signal for entering was on the spot.
But I have a real problem when entering with real account. I canīt figure out, why this is happening. I have been talking to my friends, but they have no advice for me either.
I wonder, if anyone experienced this, what was the solution?
What changed it?

Couple of things.

Firstly, when you open your first Real Account it is much wiser to be cautious than gung ho. Being indecisive is a form of caution and Capital Preservation. Understand how far the Trade could move against you Before you take it. This is much easier to evaluate Before you are xx pips in the hole. If that is acceptable risk, remember it when the price get's close. That's when you are most likely to push the Exit button just a little early and later be saying "I knew I should have hung on."

I hope you have your leverage at the correct amount for your Account size. You should be able to trade a minimum of 5 lots without endangering your account. These 5 lots may be spread over 2 different pairs {3 lots on one pair and 2 on another} or on one pair. They could be opened in full at the time of Trade Entry or built up to by adding to a winning position. That depends on your confidence in the Trade. Either way, this will give you the potential to book some profit by closing a portion of the lots while holding onto the remainder looking for the big run.

I would suggest {if you haven't already} you get a scribble pad and go back to your Demo Acct. This time, write down all the reasons you took the {demo} Trade. If it moved against you write down How Far. If it ends up a winning trade write down Why you exited and with how many pips per lot AND how many pips total for that trade. This will help define your "Free Spirit". For the foreseable, any trades that you take in your Real Account should be contained within your Free Spirit Trading Technique.

Remember, I'ts OK NOT to be in the market. If you "Just Have To Trade" Trade your Demo until one of the many pairs presents itself as a high probabability winner.


I'm sure you will get a number of responses to your question so I will leave it there for now.

I really appreciate Your kind words. Writing down the reasons for the trade looks like a good idea. I used to ask myself, why to trade one particular setup or why not. At all, it is a game of probabilities. But I never wrote it down. I thought, that making pips is the most important. But I was wrong - again. Now I see, that maybe writing down the reasons for the trade I took may help me in the longterm.

Sure getting a clean notebook for my setups.

Yes only when it breaches the 3rd Fib Line, thats the Next level Iam wating for !!!!!!!
Were talken starting a bank after we trade the AUDUSD.

Haven't had a chance to look, but any reason why its dropping so much?
