....I'm a bit embarrassed that I don't know for sure the answer to that question.

I've been involved in forex for awhile now, but never have I known for sure the difference between an interday chart is vs. an intraday chart. This is because I've never tried to find out. I think I know, but I'm not absolutely certain. So after recently hearing those terms once again, now I finally want to know for sure!

So, can someone please explain the difference between "interday" and "intraday"?

Intraday refers to any timeframe less than daily(1 bar per day). It simply means that it shows what happened inside the day.

Interday, if it existed, would show what happened between days, but since an FX day is 24hrs there is no interday period. Even for markets that are closed over night, I have not seen that term used.

euclid,

Thanks for clearing that up. I guess I had it wrong, because I had thought it was the opposite of what you described. I had previously thought "Interday" was the timeframe that was less than a daily candle/bar chart - such as 5mn charts, 1 hr charts, 4 hr charts, etc. However, as I said in my previous post, I just didn't know for sure. But, after seeing what you said, now I know that Intraday is the smaller (less than a day) timeframe. Thanks again.
