The tester graph from my earlier post. 16 CZ's over 5 weeks. +20% with just 1 pair on 1 TF.

Here is my complete system, all in one pic. It is very close to your EA now, but not exactly. Unlike Awesome, my system does not allow for automatic reversals or automatic lot size increases just because the SL has been hit. With my system no trade goes live until the Candle Delay filter has been triggered, not even when there has already been a loss. My system operates on the belief that once the CZ has formed, the CZ becomes the defacto pivot for the entire trade scenario which follows. This is why it is so important to understand Consolidation Zones, and also how to set the filters so that they pick out only the very best kind. Increasing lot sizes (Mart) is still used, by what triggers the Mart, and when, is very different than with Awesome. The CZ is everything...

There seems to be some confusion here about what is Awesome and what isn't.

Awesome is described in post 1. sq suggested adding the cz box to this as a better trigger for Awesome trades - seems like a good idea to me.

Your post that I quote here appears to be more concerned with your breakout system. Not a problem - far from it, and I will add a link to this post to my Tools thread. I mention this only because followers of your thread and my Tools thread will not necessarily be viewing this one; followers of this thread will not necessarily have found your breakout thread etc

No offence intended - far from it. It is simply that what you post here and Awesome are not the same beasts, yet you are providing invaluable information for followers of your system in a place that they may well miss.

I only posted this info here Steve, because this thread seems to be where all the EA coding is happening, as opposed to just normal trading talk or talk about Squalou's Forexhard indicator. In the end there will still be the Awesome, plus the Forexhard/Awesome hybrid, and then finally the Forexhard stand-alone CZ EA. Or put another way, 3 Martigaling EA's each one a bit slower and safer than the one preceeding it. Sue me, but I'm partial to mine. It's practically a part of my family by now, my CZ's are.

I'm personally very surprised that these threads dedicated to my system has taken off like this. I certainly never expected this much, or this type, of attention, and I'm trying my best to keep up with the likes of you and Squalou. I can't code to save my life, so handing up my ideas and my experiences is the most I can contribute.

As for the threads, we are so far along with all 3 threads at this point that it would behoove us to combine them all into one. Too bad we can't do that.

Ok, a more than slightly irritated Steve is posting this.

In post 1, I stated this, "fh has said that he looks for a minimum cz box of 25 M15 candles. I am demoing this version on the M15 chart, so BoxLength is set to 6 as sq's indi multiplies this figure by 4 to ascertain the correct number of bars for the box"

Now, given that I have multiple demands upon my time and sometimes code 3 ea's a day, have forgotten what most of Awesome's inputs are about and have forgotten all of what sq's inputs are about: anybody here got the remotest idea what this blasted BoxLengthe input should be by default? For sure, I have not.

My standard settings are 22-25/15/30.

So this will give back CZ's that have 22, 23, 24, or 25 M15 bars, and the CZ will be 30 pips high or less.

This is recommended for an M15 chart. Other time frames have different CZ sweet spots. Under no circumstances should the first number be smaller than 22. 24 or 25 gives much tighter results, and therefore much stronger breakouts.

I also recommend that the middle number be changed to what ever TF your chart is. So if you are using an M5, the middle number will be "5" instead of "15".

We all know how busy you are...
Don't bother refreshing post1 with FH versions of Awesome.
Anyone serious enough to follow your threads should know how to use the paperclip to get the latest attachments anyway

BoxLength is the minimum number of candles in the BoxTimeFrame to form the CZ box.

Default settings are 22/15, meaning 22 * M15 bars, which is 6.5 hours (6h30min).
The resulting duration (22*15 minutes) is converted in the number of the current chart's TF candles.
This ensures that the boxes will be the same on M1,M5,M15, and M30 charts.
using higher TF charts (M30, H1) may give slightly different results as the conversion will round the duration to an integer number of M30 of H1 bars.

If you want to express BoxLength in the current chart's TF, just set BoxTimeFrame to 0, just like in any MT4 indicator calls.

I just realized I mentioned something to Steve about my system, but not to you directly. I apologize very, very deeply if this has caused you to waste any time:

Reagarding the CZ formation... The number of bars is a minimum value. If set to "24", then is must have no less than 24 bars in order to plot the CZ. However, this number should be able to grow to any number at all, so long as the height of the CZ stays within the desired value. So then, if the height is set at "30", it is possible that some CZ's will have 30, 40, or even 50 bars inside. This happens often, that the number of bars grows well beyond the minimum value (of 24).

The same is true for the height of the CZ, but in reverse. In this case the height is the maximum value allowed, but it should be allowed to become smaller (less tall), so long as the bar value correlates.

So as you can see, neither of the values are static values. One is a minimum value (bars), and the other is a maximum value (height). The resulting algorithm will often return CZ's that have, for example, 29 bars with a height of only 25 pips.

The main rule with Consolidation Zones is: The more bars, the better; the less tall, the better. Especially when working in tandem.

All previous rules still apply.

Hello Steve, Squalou, Forexhard and others,

I have put Awesome yesterday evening on about 20 charts and it has found 6 breakouts from CZ during the night and traded them nicely (only once the breakout reversed and travelled in the opposite direction).

However, during the night the bot did not take the EUR/GBP north breakout (I see int journal that context busy error appeared). But the pending order remained and kicked in when the price returned. Maybe it should be deleted, or better resent after "contex busy" error.

The second bug here is the fact that the SL activated - it should have not. There was martingale lot doubling and the net result was negative because of the SL. I guess this is related with the first bug - it did not happen with the first martingaled trade.

I hope my input pushes things forward a little with this promising EA.

Steve, after using the Awesome EA without FH mod with sq's indy for a while - would it be diffult to add an "only trade once & remove" switch to awesome EA?

It is impossible to code a bot to remove itself, so I have added the 'safety feature' from my Waiting ea's.

See if this does the trick - post 1.
