Hmmm. It does have certain pea-shelling qualities, for sure. What you have done is give the rest of lots of big fat fingerholds climbing up the trading wall, along with some decent-sized toeholds.

Strange, i don't have this behaviour on my Alpari account (M5, but that should not matter);
I let it run overnight and had the boxes drawn all right, OOTB settings except TakeProfit=20 and UseSafetyFeature=false.

This is essential....
EU Buy trade this morning (open @1.42749) went to 40p loss after having reached +19p... and my TP was 20p....
At least BE would have saved that one.
Now in Sell trade on the opposite border @1.4232... and it is retracing again!

I really like this strategy. It's simple and straight forward. Thanks to FH, Steve and Squalou for advancing the strategy.

Squalou I think limiting the winners based on a timing factor would be helpful. For example if you have a long trade out of the box and it either succeeds or fails, don't let the EA take another long trade for 60 minutes (example). This might avoid the situation where price wanders back into the box and then triggers a possibly weaker trade by exiting on the long side a second time.

Would love to see the BE and other fun stuff.

One guy in FH's thread noticed that trades taken at key pivot support or resistance levels have a better chance of success. That might be another feature to look into. Price seems to have a stronger pop from those levels.

I tried a fixed TP this morning and it worked fine (FXDD).

more cosmetics...
now draws a "box continuation rectangle" on each Box (selectable color with BreakoutBoxContColor),
and price labels at the right of the last box continuation rectangle and breakout lines (if Bufferpips is !=0);

There was also a bug in the hi/lo swing which would update at every new hi or low without removing the previous hi or low.

And hopefully i fixed the issue with continuation lines not redrawing.

Sorry, Sq, but I don't see any continuation zones in the latest version. My chart hasn't changed at all. (Yes, I've recompiled -- 3 times.) What am I missing?...

Sq, this time I made a manual recompile with the MT4 Editor. I see your notes RE the changes for v1.7, but I don't see any of the actual changes.

Hmmm. Is this a test? LOL Am I passing or failing?

you might have something like "sqDynamicBreakoutBox(2).mq4" in your "downloads" directory... this happens when you DL multiple times the same file.
You should then rename and use the last downloaded one.
Try that.

Then manual recompile should update all loaded instances of the indicator on your charts if you are still running MT4 when you recompile.

Caution: this will reset all running instances of the indi with the default settings (and the new inputs should show up too)

If you don't want to loose your settings, the best is to shutdown MT4, recompile, start MT4;
Alternatively you can also open another "profile", recompile, then re-open your initial profile.

I made a file purge. Got rid of this file, plus 100 others I don't use any more and then rebooted. Works like a charm now!
