You can just click on the Experts tab on the bottom of the Terminal window. Even indicator alerts will show up there, not just expert alerts. You can also right click on the alert in that window, then click open and then double click on the file for the date that the alert happened and it will open the alert list in notepad (or whatever you have set for default for this file type) and you can see the alert with more detail. Say for example it was a buy alert for a moving average crossover with bid/ask prices and time, etc.

Can you post a screenshot of what pops up when you press CTRL + Q? I don't get anything.

  1. Install the script I posted on this thread: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...81#post4503581
  2. Assign a hot key to the script
  3. Hey-Presto you have the alert window pop-up when you press the hot key.

Hello Kadilak,

Is it possible that you can add to your script a copy to clipboard, notepad, etc. function, so all data in the Alert Window can be saved in a separate readable file format ?

Thanks

Bernard

That would be a needed

The experts tab often contains much more unneeded logging whereas the alerts window can be customized with only the alerts that you want.

Hi Kadilak,

Yes that would certainly be needed. I have an EA programmed that give much more trading info from per trade (SL, BE TP_1, 2 etc ) in Demo and give this in Alert Window. However, now to get it out in a good readable format is the trick.

Could you do that ?

Hello Kadilak,
You did not get back to me on the question ? Since you know more about the working of the Alert Window, could you make something that creates a txt file, or even a simple log file, of the info published in the Alert Window ?

I placed "alert.mq4" file in the Scripts.
Assigned the hotkey and when I press it, MT4 says: can not open file: "C..../alert.ex4"
How come it works for others and not for me. What am I doing wrong?
My Alert Window pops up every hour and sometimes I would like to open it again manually.
Can anyone help?

Hi,

Is there any option to set new alerts on MT4 WEB Platform or on MT4 iOS app? I can only find an option to set new alerts on my PC version of MT4.

Thanks!
