I used DukasCopy for a year or so after my ATF broker HotSpotFX moved out of the retail space.

Their fills were as good as I've seen in 13 years of online FX trading. My issue was the platform which I thought was sub-standard for such a high-end establishment.

English-speaking, I found communication difficult on several occasions. I needed some assistance with their API and that was essentially impossible with the language issues.

I considered using them just for execution but it was too involved so I moved along.
the reason I want to use Multicharts is because of its DOM interface. I can't trade without it.

Ninjatrader's DOM is not good as it keeps jumping as price moves

is there another software I can trade with DOM interface? thanks
Well I recevied the anticipated email today from Dukascopy.

" you have the option to easily and quickly transfer your account to FXDirectDealer, LLC www.fxdd.com or to Alpari (US), LLC www.alpari-us.com, which will provide Dukascopy Bank SA's trading technology and data feed to US based clients"

"We kindly remind you that on July 15, 2011, Dukascopy Bank SA will close all open positions and prevent any further trading of its non-eligible contract participants residing in the US."

Or I can close my account and take a wire transfer back to my bank by 7/16.

I have yet to decide what I am going to do.

All the good firms are bailing on US traders thanks to the onslaught of crazy regulations from the CFTC/NFA.

But there are still some good ECNs available - PBGBEST, ATCBROKERS, MBTRADING. I am sure there are others but I've been reasonable pleased with those.

The new Regs are a classic example of unintended consequences! I fear what else they have on the way for US traders - almost certainly even lower leverage/high margins.

Yeah and I'd recommend MBTrading. Good spreads/commissions. They pay you for limit orders. More platform options (MT4, Ninjatrader, etc.). Credit card deposits. Lower minimum deposit ($400). Free API, with English speaking customer support. etc.

The only advantage Dukascopy has over them so far is the 100:1 leverage.

Come on Dukascopy, you can do better than this.
I wonder if Alpari or FXDD will offer JForex API. Does anyone know?

They are transfering all their american customers to american partners and american leverage so no more 100:1 for the US

But if Duka's American partners gain enough influence over Dukascopy they migh be able and want to convince Dukascopy to start offering Metatrader.
any detailed explaination? since gold and silver are often CFDs and seldom traded in a pure ECN broker
i have account on dukas for 90 days and didnt ever have any problem with them because they are bank so i think they can be trusted...

they have a status of bank .......for me is different......
I had before mbt and many bad fills and server down time and the commission was also very high and my account can only in USD, hope for you it is better now , but I move to dukas now for over 1 year , my fills are good now and I have from my commission 45% back over rebate, my account I have in CHF and I can manage my trades at Jforex platform on the screen , move the lines by mouse as mt4 by some EA.
that's make it for me the best ECN broker.

Preferring a bröker because you can "move lines by mouse"? lol The only real advantages you have here is the commission thing.

I used to prefer Duka but now I prefer MBT for the reasons I mentioned (and I didn't experience your bad fills, etc.), especially for the API. Dukascopy requires $100000 for an API access, are you kidding me?

every broker will have some good and bad, and IB, you will have a very poor trading platform , you need a third party software for trading , if you choose your lot size to small they fill you at a very bad spread basis , you have to convert your winner to your account currency by yourself and have then a loss of the spread again, and......

so for only forex that will be the wrong Broker, or you only Trade swing trades as investor.

so everyone must know what he will do and choose the right.

and yes I'm a Scalper I need to manage my trades by mouse. :-), may for you is enough to trade at the platform from IB

Unlike with Dukascopy, if you didn't like the proprietary platform you still have many other possibilities. For traders like me who write their own platforms we need API. IB has a great one and they don't require 100k deposit for it.

IB has the best liquidity in the retail realm, that's for sure. It's as close to a professional Prime brokerage as you're going to get in retail. Your orders are filled by big banks (check your execution reports to see who you were matched with. 99% of the time it's a major bank such as DB, UBS, etc). The standard deal size in the professional interbank world is 1M, good luck finding banks interested in your tiny orders.

In other words, if you want to trade that small you shouldn't be using IB in the first place. Trade with some market maker, or an "ECN" that "may act as your counterparty".

It's great for pro forex, which obviously isn't your thing so of course it's wrong for you.

Swing trading and investing are two different things. This is basic knowledge.

Again, IB is better platform-wise because you have many platform possibilities + affordable API, whilst Dukascopy only has its proprietary platform which if you don't like then you just have to suck it up.
