I just need the system to do the following. If 1 hour fast trix is green and when 5 min fast trix turns green then buy. Exit when 1 hour fast trix turns red.

I found the THV setup very easy to observe and to work with and started to get everything together on the MT4 platform in october 2008. There is not too much left from the first chart of Turhovach, we added the THV Trix indicator which is the heart of the final product.

We had more than 180.000 downloads from this and my privat webpage till timestamp of today (28th of September 2009)

The main V4 rules:


Entry: Above Coral only long, below Coral only short
Price crosses cloud - both Trix cross each other and have the same color.
Best and most secure trend confirmation is a cross of the fast Trix on the zero level.

Exit:Faster Trix changes color and/or touch of a known good resistance/support level.


Other reasons to take profit can be: Touch of a trend line, resistance or support line, horizontal psych level (00 - 20 - 50 - -80) or a black cat that cross your screen


Stop Loss: please set your stop loss according to your money management plan, as higher your TF that you trade as lower you set the pip value and as higher the Stop Loss, also it depends on the currency pair that you are trading.


I use THV mainly for scalp trades but many traders use it in higher time frames.
We, the THV team proved it only on 1M and 5M. The 1M TF is only for extreme scalping and needs good FX skills !!!




These are the only rules; anything else depends on your basic knowledge on FX and your feelings.

MS - if you use TzPivotsD indy - means middle support (daily), if you use TzPivotsMW means month support
MR - if you use TzPivotsD indy - means middle resistance (daily), if you use TzPivotsMW means month resistance

The email alert is a big bonus thanks for that, I am able to send straight to my mobile phone. Run the SAH on a VPS and you can get woken up by text messages all night.

This is how I have set up the email alerts if anyone is having problems.

The email provider gmx.com (it's free).

I am using differents settings like Type 19 - All ThV. Green when price is above coral and cloud and both trix lines are green, red when price is below coral and cloud and both trix lines are red. However trix does not have to be crossed in the direction of the slope.

I don't know if you could do this in future updates but would you be able to make another type such as 19 but include the price is not in OB or OS zones in relation to THV Trix v6.01 or which ever Trix version you prefer to use.

The screen shot below shows two 4/4 signals one is a good trade and the other is in the OB/OS zone, and ofcourse this will send an sms/email alert.

You're welcome. What do you mean by price is not in the ob os area ? Do you mean that the fast trix is not above/below the ob os area or the slow trix or both of them?

Yes. Thv should work for the foreseeable future because it is based on one of the oldest and most tried and true trading methods:

1) Trade only in the direction of the trend
2) In an uptrend, buy the dips and in a downtrend sell the tops.
3) Enter the trade as price is accelerating out of the dip/top, preferably as it bounces off of something sturdy (like for example a pivot or a nice solid support or resistance line)

THV supplies the tools to help you do this (the coral, the cloud ,the trix and the THV pivots), but it is a method, not a system.

The trader still has to evaluate whether a trend exists, whether it has enough momentum, whether there is a clear road ahead or one with a big roadblock 2 pips away, whether the daily range has played out and it is therefore not worth entering a trade, whether there is news that could reverse the trend in 5 minutes before placing a trade ,to manage the risk, etc.

It is your ability to do this, rather than any given indicator or set of indicators that is the make or break factor here This comes from a lot of time in front of the screen learning how the pair or pairs you trade look/act when they are in a trend vs consolidating in a range, and from knowing through experience/chart reading where they are likely to get stuck or go into free fall. ( Once you learn to 'see' a trend and S/R, then you can do the same THV type trades with about any MA and a momentum indicator of some sort, though the THV trix and Coral are among the better ones. Some people can even do it without using any indicators at all - just by looking at price)

After almost two years in Forex and blowing many live accounts, I am just beginning to trade profitably on a consistent basis, Thanks to THV. This system and indicators are great. A very big thanks for Cobra and the team. These guys are some of the generous people I have met. The only thing that can mess me up again is my greed for pips and the urge to ignore the rules. This is possibly the most difficult thing to handle.
