I decided to close this one early... price just could never go anywhere after three bars. Usually at that point, if I don't see a move, I get out and reduce my risk. If it moves afterwards, oh well. I don't like winners turning into losers.

I know it all depends on what is going to happen next, Just curious what works more in your experience.
My guess is: less interference with trade works better.

Depends on how experienced you are as a trader. I've backtested systems where I scaled out on profits and I've backtested with all in and all out. They all pretty much came out the same in terms of profitability. So in essence, it's probably better to scale out of a trade as you reduce your risk. I tend to do both. If I'm running into a lot of resistance or support, I may scale out and move the remaining up to BE even if my target is farther away... I don't like winners turning into losers.
