My post was sent before I read what you posted.

I was making the comment in relation (among other things stated) to indicators as we had an earlier chart posted with so many lines on it my head hurt and now charts are appearing with Andrew's pitchfork on them.

Porfirio, please start a new thread if you want to explain your charts and trading style using the pitchfork.

Let's respect forexhard and his method and in so doing keep the charts clear of indicators unless he tells us to add any.

I want this thread to continue.

Have I done this right?

I've placed my buy stop at 1.60200 SL 30 pips / TP 30 pips

EDIT: Has been triggered, but I will be happy when it triggers FXreds 1.6030 buy stop as it is currently trying to break that level.

Unfortunate that I have to get some sleep now...

Guess the market showed us who's the boss. It didn't pay the slightest bit of attention to those who predeternined a long trade.

Years ago I read this, it has stuck with me ever since. "The market has spoken. Were you listening?"

The thing I just love about this method is you don't have to think, you need to look................has the market broken up or down?

to quote forexhard, "This method is so simple it's hard."

Duffy, absolutely correct.

One thing I would say however is that I was not trying to 'predetermine' a long trade, have been at this long enough to know that the market does not give a toss about my opinion, only expressed my personal view that given where the market was I was only interested in considering trading to the long side form that point.

As for the fact I missed this down move, no problem, I am more than happy to sit on my hands and wait for the next one, those CZ keep coming along.

Best Regards.

@ Squalou: Thx for the vouch. It really means a lot coming from you. And your indi is a fantastic addition to the thread. Even though it's just a prototype, it's design clearly shows that you understand my way of thinking. But it's missing a couple of mods that would make it a perfectly complete centerpiece. Pls PM me when you have the time so we can discuss the finishing touches in private. Thx!

To FXreds, Duffy, porfirio, etc.: You guys suck! Because of you dweebs I'm over the ten page mark. Now I own a real live bonafide thread here at the FF. Do you realize how respectable this is going to make me look? I'm up to 5 vouchers already! I might actually have to come up with some sage trading advice from now on thanks to you newbies! So thanks for nothing!

I know you mean well and that you're only trying to help. But one of the most important points that I'm trying to make with this thread is that so-called predictive indicators are completely unnecessary.

Let's break this down...

~The attached pic shows a Short breakout that several of you were expecting to break Long instead.

~Your expectation was based on prior price action from hours, or even days, before.

~Your assumption would have been correct had you been following one of the other systems found here at the FF.

~And you would have lost 40 or 50 pips.

~And no doubt you would be feverishly trying to recalibrate your entire system, because after all it was a "false breakout" (what is a real one, btw?)

But is that really the problem? Is it the price's fault that you just lost $500? Really???

What have we learned from this excercise?

Ok, I think we have another possible trade here (do you agree, or maybe something is wrong with my way of thinking?):

This is the UN-learning stage. You methodology is backwards. Do not ask yourself if there is a possible trade. Instead, ask yourself if there is a confirmed strong consolidation in your future.

See the difference?

The trades will come. We know this. We don't have to guess. We are 100% positive the trade WILL COME... after a time of strong consolidation.

So find the perfect consolidation and your trades are guaranteed.

Look for the trade first and I guarantee nothing but continual heartbreak.

@Songo: It's a small change that gives huge results. But it just so happens to go against pretty much every other trading philosophy in every other thread here at the FF. So don't feel bad if ti takes a little while for it to sink in.

Everyone else: When I reply to someone, please realize I am replying not only to them, but to the rest of you as well. So in my mind my messages are being read by at least 200 people within hours of being posted. So I pick and choose which postings to reply to in order to give back to the thread the best possible guidance. So this means 2 things: First, that I will not reply to every single post. And second, when I do reply, don't take it personally if I come off too strong for your taste. The answer is not for you alone.

But I must say how pleased I am with how smoothly the thread has been progessing, and how helpful everyone has been. I can only hope it stays that way. I don't like threatening people, and I'd hate to use my ban powers.

Keep the questions, pics, and comments coming!
