P.S. One option is to trade spread bets rather than forex, since bookies are much more honest than brokers.
There is no reason on earth for them todo this apart from blocking all the asian traders that place market orders at 21:00 GMT to catch market spikes when USA closes.

OK, that makes sense. I thought it had to do with the swap payments. As you know a number of traders specialize in AUDxxx buy trades just before 21:00 and close few minutes later in order to catch the interest payments.

PPS. Sevenjones, unfortunately spreadbetting is not available to US citizens since your financial institutions (and gambling corporations) want to have all US citizens as their captive market.

Yes, swap payments do play a part but those people doing that wouldnt be using a small outfit like this broker to place their trades with.

It would be interesting to know what they are doing with pending orders at 20:59 GMT ??????

My guess is they are removing them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't really been posting on FF much for a while now as I've been quietly working on a couple of EA projects of my own.

I will just say that statistically-based systems have borne the most fruit for my own development. Hop's idea in this thread has legs.

WOW! Away for a couple of weeks and I find I have so much to catch up on! R looks great and will set up a demo starting this week. I really like the low DD results of this bot because I had a TB demo account blow up on me last week. I am signed up.

Would you recommend to set Start_Recovery_at_trades=1 so that R doesn't have to wait for another signal before it starts recovery, which may take a long time if SequenceMinimuCandles=6?

EDIT: I just read the code a bit closer and it seems that the minimum value of Start_Recovery_at_trades should be 2. I love answering my own questions.

Hi Steve,

I was testing R with AUDCHF and on the chart there are clearly more sell candles and a clear lack of buy candles, yet it placed a Sell order?

I'm not sure if R is working correctly.

Your thoughts?

Hi,

I've been looking at R for this last week or so, nice work Steve!

Has anyone experienced it locking up MT4? Can anyone point me in the right direction to investigate? I've looked at the code but can't decide what might be causing it.

It happens quite often in the tester where it will just hang half way through and never continue. Maybe it's not tester friendly but I'm not too concerned about that really.

Unfortunately, it's regularly locking up MT4 when running on a demo.

I suspected it may be due to insufficient history candles on one pair which was only recently introduced on the crim's server but removing that one didn't help.

Any pointers as to what to look for please? Any options I could disable that maybe aren't working together?

edit: I should have mentioned, I am running it on 9 or 10 pairs in the demo.

Reversi just opened a sell order on AUDJPY. This suggests to me that the swap filter is not working.

Looking at the code, the following two changes (in bold) need to be made in the LookForTradingOpportunities() module. This will also allow the TradeLong and TradeShort external inputs to function.

This is indeed an oversight on my part which needs fixing if your want to use the positive swap filter - post 1 for the fix, or make the edit yourself if you can.
