A newbie might read the rules, look at a chart and say, "there's a good trade" where a pro would say, "No", and might or might not be able to explain why not. That instinct based on years of good and bad decisions. At least now I know that I don't know that yet.

DislikedHi
try and be very mechanical in your approach reinforce the rules and make decisions based on logic if you can rather than gut feeling
You trade 1 day feeling tired, you may have just had a domestic quarrel..or the kids if you have any may of been causing problems......etc etc ...then your thought process will be off ..if you try to trade mechanicaly all your really doing is turning on switches when all are on you trade
Good luck its a very good system

Second, if you still need help with your EA, I would be glad to help. I recently finished writing another EA based on a different thread at FF but the mechanized trading so far isn't anywhere near as profitable as the manual trading (of other people), so I'm still looking. Again, glad I found this and it would be great, and fun, to get out a working...Ignored

DislikedHi Dredding,
Thanks as always for the helpful advice.. I don't usually trade after 6pm GMT so it shouldn't be a biggie.. I'm up on another trade and should make back most of my losses this morning and hopefully this afternoon puts me in the positive.. All we can do is take what is presented to us I suppose!!

DislikedI'm now up 1% on the day after 2 good trades on the usdcad (see 5min chart). Brought me in 5% in total. Still in short on eurusd and audusd so might call it a day if they end % positive for me today.

Update: eurusd stopped out at news for -1% and audusd got me 3%.. so overall I'm up 3% today. I'm calling it a day. I must admit when the first couple of trades go against me during the day I do stress out over it. I need to work on that. It is the part of this strategy that I need to overcome as opportunities do present themselves during...Ignored
