My min Risk reward is 5% so if I take a legitimate signal but the next pivot down or up is within 5% then I do not want to risk 5% sl to gain 3% tp..so in that instance I set TP to 5% and get RR of 1;1

If I can make it about BE now with this system, how much better or worse I would make it, if I took my trades just the opposite direction. Or a half of them. Hmmm.....

Hey Paulus! Just want to thank you for your charts! They are very usefull!
I was hoping to have time to start looking at longer t/fs today but no chance i am afraid.

Ok.....this issuse has been talked about for like 3 weeks now...I have told everyone before about your pivots and settings!..so from now on if anyone posts about pivots, settings, pivot types ....etc....you will go on ignore! If you want to ask a question PM the memeber you have the question for! if you cant PM him....post for THEM TO PM YOU!

So for the LAST TIME....

ANY PIVOTS WILL WORK! So just find one you like, thinks looks pretty or whatever and USE THEM!

USE YOUR BROKERS TIME! Most brokers use 5pm EST as the start of the NEW DAY! If they dont then do the math!

ALL BROKERS DATA IS DIFFERENT! Your pivots or other indicators you use will sometime not match others charts due to the data of the broker or YOUR PC! If you have a crappy/slow internet or your PC is running on out of date OS, Software ...etc.... then THATS WHY!

Hi Ctpr3ss...

No disrespect meant but this is Dredding's thread and I've seen many a thread die a slow death because people keep on asking the same questions over and over again. The thread starter gets tired of it and just throws in the towel. I think Dredding, Paulus and myself have all said it doesn't matter what pivots lines you choose it's more about what you do when price approaches those lines that's important. I'm not sure why so many people get hung up on times and lines and spend their time trying to figure out why their line is 2 pips different from my line. I say this is a waste of time.

In my opinion most traders would be better off spending their time fine tuning entries and exits around the pivot lines than worrying about matching someone else's lines.

I'm with Dredding and I understand his frustration, I've had enough of people asking about pivot lines.

could someone explain to me about pivot lines? what should I do at pivot points? what indicators do we use?..... I might have missed something.

Before someone bites you head off, read the thread again, esp the first post, and the more insightfull posts.

If you are saying you do not know how to trade off pivot points, think of them as possible support & resistance. That means when price approaches these levels we "anticipate but not assume" that the level may support or reject price.

We then trade with trend, for example when approaching the pivot from below, we wait for price to breach the pivot and go long when price holds and finds support off the pivot. The point is we need to see pivot below us for long and vice versa for shorts, and price must have have touched a level to provide an entry. This increases proabability.

there are plenty of chart examples here but if you are not getting it you need to do some research on it.

The principles are act very easy, the difficult bit are determining trend and recognising what price is telling you.
