I had a few 'trade context busy' stuff this morning which prevented me from closing the long euro trades. Thankfully the euro rallied further than i thought and I could eventually close out at a higher profit , taking my account to a new high. Anybody else?

Oanda also down for me. Very frustrating. From other people I've communicated with, this seems to be a common occurence with them. I will be looking to leave them for my active trading, only leaving my long term trades. Maybe I won't even do that depending on what else there is.

Can anyone recommend a reliable broker.

Sorry, i trade from 9-12 GMT+2 and this is the first time this year that it's happening.

about an hour ago, the problem occured on FXPractice. i didnt expect it will affect FXTrade too.

anyone having similar issues with other brokers as of this moment?

EDIT:
4.13pm local time (about 4.13AM NY Time)
i just got connected to FXTrade

sorry, that's my PC clock time (a bit advanced). Oanda time now is 16.10, so that time above should read +/-4.00pm local time

I just got it working. Talked to the live chat help and it worked within seconds. Kinda odd.

What i noticed About Oanda's MT4 Platform is that their Moving averages aren't Like any Other MT4 Platform form other Brokers. I use Oanda's and Alpari's MT4 Both live accounts and Oanda's Moving average are Different when i checked a few others. This can really screw up A trader view of where Support levels may lie. I didn't check but i wonder if other Indicators are affected. This has got to be the fact that they have their MT4 Open from Sunday around 2pm

Mike: There are several reasons for differences in MA's. One is more or less candles, as in your case of an early open on Sunday. Others are:

differences in timing,
missing candles,
bad candles,
different formula for calculations.

For me, noticing missing candles is the hardest to spot.

True, not all brokers have the same amount of candles, and i always update the Pair history before Doing a Deep Analyse to avoid a missing candle . But Oanda's 100 moving average on the Daily chart as of today is 1.41107 while alpari's is 1.3972 this can be very dangerous Relying on a False Signal.

If I have 5 trades same pair. And the units are:

10001
10002
10003
10004
10005

Then the rule does not apply, is that true?

Is that a simple way to circumvent this rule?

georgem: How specific is the rule? I explain:
georgem: If I have 5 trades in the same pair. But the units are:

georgem: can I now go on and close any trade whenever I want, because the rule does in effect NOT apply
georgem: is that true?
georgem: because the unit size is different
OANDA: the FIFO rule only affects trades of the SAME unit value. If you have trades of different sizes, FIFO does not apply to them. This is explained clearly in the FIFO rules clarification page here

Compleet newbie here.
I opened a demo account with Oanda. I just wanted to know if the profit shown in the "Transaction History" page is real. Are there any hidden fees? Anything I am doing wrong or might have missed? Here is a pic: http://i.imgur.com/HHfiA.png

Also, I'm from Belgium. Does anyone know if I might have problems withdrawing the money?

noticed it too...

i hope i didnt violate any rules... posting the chat etc...

well... about the FIFO rule.... i spent half a day rewriting my API code to create slightly different unitsizes... so that the rule doesnt apply....

...reminded my what forextrading really means... wildwest... rules may change all the time and destroy your profitable strategy...

I expect the rules to only get worse in the next years...:-(
