One thing I would like to point out. When I see a mini gap, I use the crosshairs to make sure that the gap is not created by a missing one minute candle, which can happen with any data provider/chart package. In other words, when there is a gap I make sure the two candles which have the gap are 1 minute apart. If the two candles are more than one min. apart because of missed data or whatever, then the gap is invalid.

There is one that was just created at: 1.1916 (eurusd). But price hasn't moved away from it very far yet to make it tradeable.

I use VT Trader as well. Real account. Have not seen the gaps on the one minute, but then I use an overlay that adds momentum to the candles.

I need to look at VT some more about this.

Are there any other magnets thats developed today? I still have the 1.1856 from a few days ago thats approaching and the 118.78 from the yen. I am still having problems getting the euro charts to work for me thanks alot.
I have used gaps as an aid to trade UK/US stocks but never bothered utilising them in the spotfx (seamless) market.

However I have spotted a ''magnet'' on GBPUSD at 1.7383 today, I have no idea when this will be hit, i am going to stand back and observe.

PS: Gaps seem to be very scarce on eur/usd and usd/jpy on my charting software....

Hi,

I've followed your threads with interest and was surprised by the supposed simplicity of your method - I admit entry is a poser!

I have a slight problem - although I also use Sierrachart and Trackdata, I am unable to exactly duplicate the charts you have posted on jajr.com. Could you possible advise your settings?

Hello;

In my chart settings (F5), I load 45 days, It's a 1 min. (and 0 seconds) chart period, Start time: 00:00:00 End Time: 24:59:59, type=candlestick.

If you have TrackData, then your 1 min. chart should be the same as mine.

GBP/USD magnet hit 1.7383.
Interesting...very interesting.....timing of entry seems to be fundamentally reliant on a time magnet....whatever that is....maybe its 'time' to get out the the quantum phi manual...

Are you still waiting for the EURUSD Short $1.1941 "new gap magnet"? that you posted day before yesterday? If so, how are you determining what the appropriate entry point should be given the move through the $1.1941 level was Bullish.

After your "new magnet" was initiated at the $1.1941 level, the EURUSD went on to strike through my 3/13/06 to 3/14/06 target of $1.2030 which had an entry point on 3/13/06's Open of $1.1965.

So, the distance between the new magnet of 1941 to my entry point on the open of 3/13/06 at 1965, was 24 pips. The distance between my entry at 1965 to my target (3/13/06 to 3/14/06) at 2030, was 65 pips.

Thus, total distance between your "new magnet" at 1941 and my target today of 2030, was 89 pips.

So, this brings up two questions:

1) How are you determining your entry points after you see a "new magnet"?

2) How are you determining what your Stop point should be after you've determine what your Entry point should be and did your Stop point fit inside the 89 pip distance between your new 1941 magnet and my 2030 target?

I get something "magnetic" in 1.2018 et 12020 on Eur/Usd at 3 pm (gmt+1) ? Don't you ? I know it is sometimes due to different brokers.... Just to check....

I did have a 1.2021 gap mag., this morn. at 5:05 AM (EST) then it got hit at 8:31 AM (EST), but none on my chart at your time.
