No one noticed Jimmy had seemingly disappeard. he was that kind of bloke. I guess we just figured he was off again looking for more wood or passed out somewhere in the dunes. A completely plausible explanation.
I recalled the time we went camping deep in "old mans forest". We woke up to find Jimmy had packed up his tent and hiked back to the lodge we'd stayed the night before, which was 4 miles into the walking track. He never said why just that he "felt like a walk".
It wasn't until the next day as we retired once again from the surf to the beech shivering as we realized that there was no fire, that someone finally asked "Where's Jimmy?"
