Dude Enough with it already Look at the chart their spread are low, as low as anybody else at times. It's obvious that your talking rubbish because i watched the NFP release in front of a Oanda Chart and spreads were 3 pips
Ignored

Today something really curious happened.

Oandas spread was 0.8 pips right before NFP and stayed like that till really close to the news release.

Dude what broker would have low spreads on NFP. What trader would trade the news and expect low spreads on NFP.
There are thousand of broker out there if you don't like One, Move on to the next one.
If the broker doesn't fit into your Trading Strategy move on to the next one.
If you want a Broker with fix spreads there are a few out there, As for the creditability, well you tell me Once you've deposited your $20,000 into it.

I have been using Oanda for several years, for some reason I am not encountering difficulties with them, some troubles can be attributed to ISP connection, computer abilities.

I expect spreads to accelerate during volatile markets.

Usually troubles come from attempting to scalp quickly and that is similar to most other brokers. Additional troubles arise from having too many charts open and CPU problems.

I think that traders have to understand what is happening when volatility appears and the broker is flooded with a gazillion small orders.

Trying to trade when significant news is announced is almost folly.

Correct!

You have basically summed up the problems people claim on the performance of every broker! Most people are running their trading off home computers with lots of other applications, poor firewalls, routers and connections but if there is one trade that takes a little bit longer to execute, suddenly the broker is scum.

Regulated brokers that are running a STP/No Dealer model are not doing anything to your trading other than letting you trade with tiny spreads and massive leverage.

i never said it wasn't, and i'd never expect it to stay at 0.8 pips, In fact when i was watching the NFP release i was quoted a 3 pips spread. I don't trade news events but if i did 3 pips wouldn't scare me. Now he said that usually their are large spreads on The pair somewhat to 20 pips, and so i showed him the Spread history. Anyway i Ignored him because of his childish remarks so that Topic is Over.

But placing a 30 pip stop loss is Gambling. There's no reason to say the price won't spike or retrace back and knock you out.

For one year of backtest for M15 chart, it happened only 3 times that a spike hit my SL. In live trading this year since January, it happened only once during Japan disaster this year. My minimum SL is about 20 pips on EURUSD. Today, I used a 25 pip stop loss, because of the higher than usual daily range. Target (hit) was 52 pips. I could have used 1 pip SL and it would not be hit (today), but in most other instances, 20 pips is enough.

Gambling is simply jumping in in hope something will happen.

I traded the NFP, it was alright. MT4 from Oanda responded much better to the changes, fxTrade was sort of frozen.
I found a penny today. That's +100 pips for me.

Bank transfer is wire I believe, no ACH that I know of. I usually do a bill pay through my bank and have them mail a check. Usually in the account in a few days. Credit Card is instant in the account, I saw the option the other day and tested it.

hmmm, I just logged in and I see the credit card option. Since when do they have it?

By the way, fxTrade now has a news tab up there. Don't know, if it's always been there.

I only noticed it recently. From the FxTrade platform I select Deposit Funds and I get the options. That is the thing with Oanda they are always adding stuff without ever telling anyone. You just login one day and there is something new. Hehe.

it's Great that you can limit Your risk like That, But for me it simply won't work. Like right now i have a Short on Euro it was open since Friday noon, Market closed with it up 69 Pips Sunday it was down as much as 55 pips and now it's up 135pips. As you can see am a long term trader. My stop are determined by the price. if i were to target 52 pips my trades would have to be MUCH larger than they are now to even bother with the trade. but like i said. It's great that you can limit your risk like that.
I too try to limit my risk but why your fishing for big fishes you net a big net.
