Hi,

Have you called in and spoken to us? Obviously we don't check the forum all the time, so contacting us direct is better. We havent noticed anything at our end freezing and I don't believe we have had any clients contact us with the same problem. Could you maybe give me more details about what you have been seeing and your location, connection type and account number? Obviously do not do this on the forum, but over a PM or direct email.

I would obviously want to find out why you are experiencing this problem and help fix it. It could be that...

Ok, great. Just one piece of advice. I notice that your profile says you are from the UK, so it may be worth checking the DC you are connecting to and trying either DC5 - London or DC6 - Frankfurt.

Let me know!

Thanks

Hi Go,

I have seen your spread analysis and I actually did one myself on yourself, FXCM and MBTrading. You were by far consistently better than FXCM and were as good as MBTrading when you take into account that they charge commission. This I did on a time based analysis and tick by tick based analysis over a common hour. So this link I do believe is truthful...

However, an answer to the following questions I would like to know.....

Are you going to go true commission based ECN sometime soon with your MT4 platform? How likely is it that you will add Pepperstone to your spread comparison?

Thanks

AxiTrader sees the light........

Reminder - Server Time Changes

Due to popular demand, AxiTrader is proud to announce that as of Monday 2nd of May we will be changing our MT4 server time zone from GMT+0.

The new time zone will be GMT+3 or 'New York Close'

The advantage to you will be:
Every trading day will start at 00:00 and end at 24:00
The FX market will start at approximately 00:00 Monday (AEST 07:00)
The FX market will close at approximately 00:00 Friday (Saturday AEST 07:00)
Statements will...

Pull your head in AxiTrader, GMT+2 is New York Close during northern winter months.

So if you had really seen the light you would have updated servers to be in a place that changes from the timezone of GMT+2 in northern winter forward one hour to GMT+3 in the northern summer.

So maybe the light is only dimly lit for you AxiTrader....

There has been a lot of price freezes on mt4 platform lately, especially yesterday. Any reason why? Anyone else experience the same thing?
While price is moving on other brokers, i see that price on gomarkets has frozen but trades are still executing on correct price. Annoying and delaying.

Same here noticed today today. But beside all my connection to server dropped right during NFP first moves! Totally a mess on this. Not the first time this happens. While have other MT4 from different brokers on other PC ( SAME PC ) running same smoothly!

New server delay execution/ Reply remain slow compared to many brokers. I'm in Europe. Some time your are not sure what price you will get & it's not the best in fast moves.

I'm in Australia. I confirm that outages happen nearly every time during NFP and other news events. Even when price moves quickly during non-news times, the price feed can freeze up and or the server drops out and resets repeatedly. This has been happening for some time now, possibly for the last three or four months. It's very annoying, as the outage is often for up to about five minutes.

Each time it happens, I monitor prices via a non-gomarkets feeds, which operate "normally".

Changing data centre makes no difference.

Pepperstone seem to lie quite a bit on their website. It says they are an independent broker, but from what I can see they are clearly a white lable of AxiTrader. I don't like Axi very much, so I wouldn't use a white label of them. Compare Axi to Pepperstone and see for yourself. They have only been around for about 3 months and once when I called them to make enquiries I was diverted to someones mobile voicemail inbox. There must be about 2 people working there.

And the ECN thing they are claiming cleary isnt an ECN if it is going to AxiTrader unless they have suddenyl become a bank!!

The spreads arent great and the commission aint cheap, so it can jog on as far as I am concerned.

GO's spreads are as good as anyone else out there at the mo, and I've never had any particular problem with them. My connection is fine and I can't notice any difference since the upgrades they made last week. I'm sure though like any computer based upgrade there can be teething problems. It doesn't matter what you do, its hard to get them 100% perfect because you don't know how hardware will operate when it actually begins its usage. I used to build computers and two identical systems could perform at considerably different levels. I am sure if there are any issues with the upgrades then their tech guys are working on it this weekend. Unlucky for some!!

Yeah, I noticed the chart freeze as well. I ended up using another brokers platform in the end for the pricing.

When I closed the trades that I had open, although the charts had frozen the close price was pretty close to what the other broker had so it was just the chart that froze.

I had heard of this happening before at news time but hadn't seen it myself before.

I'm in Asia also and it's working fine for me , sometimes got disconnected during big news time , but just a few seconds per week and it didn't make any sense to me since I'm not going to trade before news released
Gomarkets sent emails notice that they decrease spreads more and no fees on >1000$ credit card deposit , this make me feel quite interesting .

If Gomarkets can add PAMM accounts or some ways to help money managers also , they simply the best broker I have ever used

Regards

I to having exactly the same problems and have for awhile, I have 2 platforms side by side both GO and one can stop and the other keep going strange stuff, makes it bloody hard when trading of the 1 minute or 5 minute chart you never know if its the real price or not. I hope you can fix this Chris its getting really bad. Changing servers makes no diff what so ever.
I have also been getting very eratic order process speed, sometimes straight through and then others it can take like 5- 8 seconds even placing limit orders same thing, so in a fast moving market doesnt inspire confidence thats for sure, it all seems to point toward servers playing up.
I also speak to 2- 3 ppl regularly that use GO and same thing, we are all based in Ozz.
A stable platform would be heaven.

We've spoken to each other for probably over a year where you have experienced apparent intermittent connection problems and throughout much of it you have been the only one to contact us with problems. If you have friends experiencing problems, I would ask you to encourage them to call us. If every client was having a problem of orders taking around 5-8 seconds then we would certainly know about it, but that is not the case.

If you have two GO Markets platforms side by side, as you have said above, and only one of them stops showing prices come through then that is about the clearest signal I can think of that it is not a GO Markets problem and is going to be something at your end.

Our servers are certainly stable, and for your indication they only run at about 15-25% of capacity to ensure that there will be no problems. We've just added that second server so that the already massive growth we are seeing is already accounted for.

What the? I hope my interpretation of the answer above is wrong.

It is a simple fact that the GO servers are seen at my end drop out on most major news and sometimes when there is a rapid price movement. Drop out on NFP is a sure thing each time, usually for about 5 ish minutes. And by drop out I mean price freeze, sometimetimes with intermittent moments when price will update, followed by total server drop out etc etc for about 5 minutes.

Oh, and I can confirm that sometimes the order entry delays can be as quoted by the other poster on this forum. I have taken these issues as just being par for the course, until I read the other comments that only supported my own observations.

But then, to read someone from Go come on here and attempt to deny it so flippantly really is a bit over the top.

May be we should record by video next NFP release & post it so Chris can see that we are not lying about this issue.

Also order execution is SLOW! It's mainly due to servers in australia I think & not the best for europe.

Despite the great spread & execution ( with some delay ). I can't accept what happened in NFP!

So will be watching carefully & if I have any failure next NFP I will move away.

Thanks

I am sorry if it came across as a flippant reply, that of course was not my intention.

However, I can see that there was definitely no price outage or server outage around the NFP last week. If you can contact me direct with your login number I can see what the log for your account shows. I can 100% confirm that the server was online, had the normal number of clients connected to it and all prices were coming through. For example, in the minute that the NFP was released there were 278 ticks recorded on GBPUSD and 246 on AUDUSD.

Obviously at these times there tends to be a lot more data coming through which means it is harder for an individual's connection to keep up with every tick of data. The further you are from the server and the more hops you have to go to reach us always increases the chance of missing data ticks or a slower order or even losing connection because of the potential for packet loss. If you were connecting from a home computer somewhere in Europe for example then it would seem more likely that you would experience a such a thing than compared with someone running it off a VPS in Sydney. The quality of connection that you have will always make a difference.

Yes Chris we have prob spoken about this for longer than that for similar problems and its still going on I have another mt4 platform running aswell on the same system and that one has never had a prob I dont know what else to say. The other guys I have spoken to about GO its not there main platform so it doesnt matter as much to them.
With the 2 platforms side by side the problem swaps from one to the other so that would indicate its not me, I will run only one platform next time the market starts to move and see how she goes.
I spend alot of time on the pc watching the charts and when you do that you notice the slightest of changes, I so wish it was my end Chris then I could fix it. I get the feeling you think this is a attack nothing could be further from the truth I came into to post to see if others were having the same probs and there were a heap of posts that beat me to it.
So thats brings up the question why some are having the probs and some arnt.
