This can't be done in MT4. You would need to change your screen resolution (right click on your Windows desktop/wallpaper, then Properties..... Settings..... etc).

I have read and reread, but still confused. I have a folder which I downloaded from mr niceguy. The folder contains about 14 files. The files have extensions such as .mq4, .tpl, .ex4, EX4. and so forth. My question: Is there a place on the MT platform to upload the WHOLE folder and it's contents or do I have to individually break down the folder contents and load the files to a different location, such as .tpl to a templates folder. At present, the Mr Niceguy folder is sitting in c: Program files (x86) > VantageFX Trader.

The only way to do it automatically is if an installer .exe was included with the package. If not you would have to do it all manually as you stated.

tpl files into templates, indicator files ex4 & mq4 into experts/indicators and any ea's into experts and scripts into experts/scripts folder.
It never gets easier, you just get better

Once you have loaded all files, open a new chart then just click load the template from the drop down list. All indicators & objects assigned to that template will load onto the new chart. Keep saving to a new template if you make any changes that you wish to keep for the next time.

If you have many charts on your screen, save the whole set up by creating a new profile. By saving profiles, it will save a lot of time positioning & resizing charts especially if you wish to take all your setups to another broker.

Backup & Save expert, template & profile files.

Hey guys, just downloaded MT4 and I'm playing around with it. One issue I'm having is deleting something such as a text. For example I am using a pivotpoint downloaded from one of the stickies. I want to get rid of the text saying "daily support 1 etc...". I double click on it and clicked delete object. Problem is when I visit a different time frame, the text will reappear and if I revisit the previous time frame where I deleted the text, it reppears! what can i do? If it's any help i'm using AutoPivotIndicator_ver5

By the way is there also a way to reduce the pivot point so the line doesn't extend all the way across the screen but only a few selected bars?

Lastly, everytime I change a time frame it brings me to a random date. For example when i change to daily TF, it always brings be back a few years and I always have to hit "end" to bring me forward. It gets annoying after a while...is there some way I can lock it to the right bar?

Re the pivot indy, you'd need to post the source code (.mq4 file) here, and then bribe, coerce or otherwise persuade a programmer to modify it for you.

Re your scrolling issue, there are two ways I can think of to alleviate, even if they don't completely solve, your problem:

1. Turn chart autoscroll on (menu: Charts -> Autoscroll). Then every time a new price tick arrives, MT4 will automatically 'jump' to the right hand edge of the chart.

2. In the bottom left corner of your bottommost chart window, there's a little triangular shaped object called 'Fixed chart position'. If you drag it rightward so that it aligns under the rightmost bar in your chart, then when you switch to a longer timeframe, the rightmost bar will continue to be plotted there. (However, if you switch to a shorter timeframe, you'll still need to scroll manually, or press the END key).

I don't understand why you would NOT want the text explaining it was Support 1 ?

You can choose which time frame you want the indicator to appear under the Visualization tab; is that what you want?

The best Pivot Indicator by far is in the PivotsD available in the THV System thread, try that, you will like it, has many options for display.

For the second question, yes, you have to have the Auto Scroll & Chart Shift buttons selected all the time, basic stuff really......... but I can post a picture if you still have trouble

I'm running MT4 on extended desktop (secondary display) but the object color palette still shows up on my primary display. It's not possible to drag it as it has no title bar.

Any idea to make it show up on the secondary display. I didn't find the entry for it in terminal.ini to set the coordinates by hand.

Drag the indicator panel first to your screen before you select the colour palette.

Hi I can help with that.. look at the tool bar at top of chart go to the curser square than look to the right and you will see two little black things with a little arrow between them if you place your mouse pointer over them and left click that will show a drop down with selections of different items go down to which one you want and left click and you can drag it to any place on the chart, when you have it you can highlight it by double left clicking and a square will appear around it you can drag it around to suit, to remove it totally highlight it than hit your delete key on the keyboard

He may be asking for the arrows shown on actual trades.
To get those find the trade in your account and drag and drop onto relevant chart.

I want the arrows that are placed auto when a buy or sell trade are opened manually ,and the arrow when the sale are closed
I know u can get it from history

My demo platform is not working with EAs. I don't know why.

I am not a new trader, so I know that one needs to make sure that all of following are done:

1.) Boxes for Live Trading are checked on the EA when setting it up;
2.) Green Button for Live Experts is on at the top of the platform;
3.) Smiley face in upper right hand corner of chart;
4.) Demo Account platform account is up and ready to go with $5,000 ready to trade;
5.) Internet Connection is up and running smoothly.

I even have the same problems on my VPS as with my desktop.

What am I missing?

I have tried several EAs, and nothing happens. I come back within an hour, or even a day or two (just to give it time), and still, nothing.

I thought it might be my broker's platform, but I've tried other demo platforms from other brokers, and the same thing happens.

Any help is appreciated!

Sometimes I can't send orders through on my MT4 demo platform. I'd either have an order to modify or delete or close and order and it would say "order accepted" and then telling me "off quote" momentarily and that my order failed. What is this problem?

From MT4's help text, regarding "Error 136 - Off Quotes":
"No quotes. The br0ker has not supplied with prices or refused, for any reason (for example, no prices at the session start, unconfirmed prices, fast market). After 5-second (or more) delay, it is necessary to refresh data using the RefreshRates function and make a retry."

The latter part, about refreshing rates, applies to EAs.

Try placing the order again, after a break of a few seconds.

If the problem occurs frequently, contact your br0ker.

What version of Windows are you running?
