Hm that was VERY peculiar, spread for silver went up to 16 cents on the dollar and then it took a dive for something like 20-25 cents, and then it went back to 43.20 region and spread got back to normal 4 cents on the dollar.

Very peculiar indeed.

At least i didnt screw up as much as yesterday, so at least something to look at today.

Infering hypothesis from generalising observations.

Also shitty open trades on demo. Closed a few during the day but not many.

E/U up (not friendly with H1 MA 9 expo) for two days straight. Now its chilling out for a bit, hanging out with MA 9 and being a bit shy north of 1.46.

Slapped a few interesting positions at price today, charts coming up, but im getting a bit tired.

Ouch that would have hurt if it was for real. Had to close those as they got into that NASTY SD zone again, with a big chance of shooting out north, taking these from a crappy place into a world of HURT.

Im definetely getting better, only one really bad position today and two small SLs.

So thats 15 trades for today 12/15 profits.

If i just would have kept my fingers off that damn script right in that low vol. lunchtime when it hit that support then i would have had 12/13 profits. At least i KNEW those where iffy so i cut the SL real tight. Means i KNEW it in advance. Dont know why but longs seem much more sudden and hard to predict then shorts. I definetely have better ratio on shorts then i do on longs.

Eating breakfast in the sunshine is perfect. Think ill do that again.

This is what my Amigurumi cat mascot my wife made actually looks like, its almost hard to see what it is in the avatar cause it so small.

The cap is new since januari (-20 c some days, even cats made of yarn will freeze).

What is a "general" considered pip count for a scalp and hold time? I personally see numerous trades in a day, but I try to find a trade which in higher probability will net me at least 10-15 pip. I can see about 3-5 setups easily, but I only take 1 which I can use a higher lot on. If I had more money to play with, I would more likely take alot more trades easily. Quality vs Quantity with my account.

Its hard to know, most of the time i dont know why i enter and why i close. The analysis is one thing but it alone means nothing. I attribute most orders to pattern recognition of irrational behaviour. SR trading though is to larger extent a rational affair, but people moving that utilize information i dont want to put the money (bribes) and effort into aquiring. So i have to limit myself to seeing the pattern their orders make anyway and acting on that.

I had short for 16 pips yesterday, that was my record for a long time. Often i can get out with 0.1 to 0.5 pip profit if things arent working out. But 4 pips is a significant win to me. Hold time is 1 to 15 minutes i think. Maybe average out at 6. I use SL of 3-10 nowadays determined in advance when i enter and sometimes i cut it tighter after entry, but i never move it further away from entry. Ive traded 35 positions one day, but that was with a totally other way of trading with multiple positions in some trades. These days i max out at about 15 trades on my live account a day and maybe at least 3-4 in a day. I trade the demo if i get the time inbetween live trades, anything from 0 to 50 positions a day, i make thos quite sloppy just for fun mostly. Ive been accustomed to switching between them without getting it wrong, but it took some practice. But of course often the demo trades suffer a lot from being uattended while i trade the live account. Once of twice a day i am in live and place the trade, jump to demo and place a trade, then back to live in 15 seconds and ready to close if it stalls. I cant keep that up for much though or ill get old and tired before im 40

But in the morning i put away ALL thoughts and preconceptions of how much + i need to make, how many trades is probable to happen and such things. All of that must at that point in time remain irrelevant the whole day. When ever i start thinking about that stuff i stand almost no chance of trading good, my mind just fills up with all that stuff. Its also impossible for me to trade if i start thinking about how many pips a certain trade "should" yeild. I wish i could afford the luxury of rational thoughts like that but then that takes over and it gets impossible to trade price since its not so rational.

I would very much like to see what technical bits and/or general thinking you use for youre trades. I looked at your explorer and youre trades seem very interesting to me. I saw one short you took off of break of the 1.42 resistance on E/U that looked interesting for an example. You had a lot of faith in that one considering how long you waited before closing in profit and it would be interesting in hearing what gave you that faith.

When I first started, I tried scalping for 2 months. I did very well but was too high pace for me at the end. My ultimate goal is to trade 1-3 times a day at most with a minimum of 10 pips each and only during one session - US. There's more to be made in the European session but I value my sleep.

In my trade explorer you saw, I am actually demoing various methods out. Some are for 5 Minutes are some are 1H, 4H, and DAILY. I am learning every day, but I am closer to my comfort zone and style now after 1.5 year later. I had faith in those long term trades, because from my limited time of learning, I noticed trades eventually come back in DAILY ranging pairs. I use Bollinger Bands to tell me this. For example, if the price is near top or bottom of the band, I know price will have to retract in case I make a mistake - so I do not panic. This is not optimal, if you are not overtrading / over leveraging, you have nothing to be worried about is my thought - using my method above. Your mileage may vary.

If you are a pure scalper I can attach some screenshots of my own work. Like I said, I did very well scalping (greater than 85% win) but was just too arduous for me. I want to go in 1-2 times during US session and be done; not the 10-20 trades I did. Plus, I did not want to pay my broker half of my wins.

That would be cool.

Think i like the picture i took from Södra hamn (southern harbor) with the guy on the bike, that looks a bit like a classic postcard picture. Although the guy on the bike has a bag full of booze, so that would probably not be in a postcard

That white boat in the middle go out for shrimp feasts in the summer around in the archipelago. Though the shrimp is not fresh shrimp, they are from Norway so they have been frozen.
