You're right, good clarification. I didn't account for any spread differentials, which aside from some of the EUR pairs, look to heavily favor ATC, by a margin equal to or exceeding the rebate factor if the MBT entry is a limit.

I went thru my trades for the last 3 months, and the new MB commission would come out at slightly below $18/mm in my case. Not bad. On the flip side, their spreads in usd/jpy and gbp/usd could be about half a pip tighter compared to other firms.

They are an ib.

best full mt4 ecn broker is probably fxopen and mb trading.

I tried ATC demo account for almost a year and traded live with them last year.

For their commission, I just simply add 0.4 pips to their spread, and still among the lowest total cost over all.

The only problem that irritating me is that all my stop orders were executed with 2-5 pips slip all the time --- normal time ( I don't trade news), so their low spread is a moot point. I talked with them and their explanation was "...stop order become market order once price meets the set value and slip can happen during highly active market ..."

I 'd never had any slip with IBFX, GOMarkets, and had a slip only once with FXDD. I haven't been trading with them for a few months lately. Happy now with Dukascopy.

Are there anyone here trading live with them have the same slip problem like I had? This is because I need one MT4 broker with lower overall cost than FXDD and IBFX and considering either going back to ATC or trying OANDA MT4.

Technically you should be doubling it (0.8) to account for the fact that your trades are round-trip.

How large were your average trades? If they were anything less than 1M (10 lots) then slippage should not have been issue, unless you just happen to have placed your stops where a lot of other traders had stops.

Yes, that is what I was trying to say, add to their offered spread 0.4 pips enter and another 0.4 pips exit. So round trip is 0.8 pips. We are talking about the same thing.

I traded only 0.3 (30,000) lots, and some time 1.2 lots (120,000), but what bother me is this type of slip practically did not happen with FXDD, IBFX and GOMarket -- same and sometime twice the trade size (240,000).

Also during the demo trading with ATC, no slip at all.

Hard to say then, slippage of several pips on that low of an amount is peculiar. These were stop orders executed in quiet conditions?

This is why I don't trade with just a bid/ask feed (anything non-ECN, which technically includes ATC MT4). From years of trading stocks & futures, I simply need a L2/DOM book, especially for larger trades. Otherwise, you're just shooting in the dark and guessing what the liquidity is.

Would be curious to see your logs. I have over 400 trades on atc, and usually only get slipped a tiny bit, like .x pips, but it does happen often. Never whole pips 1,2,3 etc. I think thats natural, though, to some extent?

Agree there, would be nice to have the DOM etc. They actually offer that, but for me, I prefer to use mt4 over their platform that provides that info. Since I don't scalp, and trade medium term, doesn't ever seem wise to me to turn down a trade, because a tiny little slippage is about to occur.

Unfortunately, I did not keep the log because at that time I was about to move my money somewhere else and also the lost is small. Anyway, I went back and try to log in my ATC account to see if I can get it. It became 'invalid account'. I went back to FXCM backoffice, the account is till there but they do not have a trade log. If you want, I can show the screen shot of my email to ATC.

To summarize my first trade with them, I shorted 0.3 GBPUSD together with Openbuy 1.2 GBPUSD at the SL of the original trade and with small TP. It is a stop&reverse to recover the loss if the original trade goes the wrong direction. Here the detail:

Sell (market) 0.3 lots @ 1.59910 SL=1.60250 ---> got stopped out at 1.60278 (2.8 pips slippage -LOST)
set Buy Stop 1.2 lots @ 1.60250 TP= 1.60380 ---> buy triggered at 1.60291 (4.1 pips slippage - LOST)
TP above of 1.2 lots set @ 1.60380 ---> triggered at 1.60391 (1.1 pips slippage - GAIN)

There's no problem like this at my other brokers, Dukascopy, IBFX and FXDD. Stop loss and open order happen at the same price (off by less than 0.5 pips, which I consider normal for ECN/STP and 5 decimal price).

So from the slippage, instead of a recovery with a small gain of $29 it become $2.4 lost. No big deal, it just upset me because of the way it slipped (selective slippage). It makes me feel like they want to make some extra profit to make up for a low spread they offered, and they can do that in a more subtle way if they want. This makes it harder to set a trading plan because I don't know how much slippage will be each time.

I made a few more trades after that and slippage occurred every times, 1-3 pips and one time 5 pips. So I stopped.

Other than that, I like ATC overall and I don't mind if slippages are in the range of the 5th decimal like your case. That is why if no body have this problem, I might give them a try one more time.

Interesting thanks. I'm guessing they link into FXCM ActiveTrader via API (without having to use FXCM's atrocious flash frontend)?

Although I guess it's either flash or .NET, pick your poison..

Have you looked into trading the Euro futures that CME Group offers? There is a web page available after you register (free) that lists their DOM for their FX futures products.

Made a very comfortable living trading CME futures before switching over to spot. If they had liquid cross rates, they'd be king.

Did anyone get an MT4 update yesterday? I changed the server and see Gold and Silver, but no update to MT4 yet to include the built-in chat.

When was this, if you don't mind? Only been there for about 10 months myself. Only time I had a real slippage, was during the flash crash... but was somewhat understandable.

I can't connect to mt4, so probably still working on the updates.

Got the answer. New MT4 is coming later this week. I just placed a trade and the execution was the fastest I've ever had on ATC - probably 1/3 the normal time. Hopefully this is here to stay.

After many trades I can confirm that ATC's execution is probably 300% faster after this weekend's updates, and the fastest I have ever seen.
