My simple-minded view, returning from an afternoon on the town, is that the long-term participants spoke loudly today, but they will likely wait until Thursday to shoot the rocket above 1.4280.

I use lack of "participation" when maybe volume is a better word. there is not much of any trading volume what so ever, Be it buyers or Sellers. If we are coming off highs or lows we see increse in volume (Participation). Above I see no volume. Nobodys doing or has done business in this area for a long time. And thats the point to me. What is that longterm participant planning to do. I m really trying to trade someones else "perception" of value. If any of that make sense.

Markets in Profile would be my favourite of the two. And then there's Markets and Market Logic...

indeed the daily profile stopped one-timeframing today. While i'm no expert in one-timeframing mechanics, here's my take anyway.

on the TPO chart we can see how today's low did not break the weekly/monthly VAL which has been established over the last 2 weeks. We can also see the buying tail below today's VAL (i do not beleive the a double print excludes it from being a buying tail since it has less prints than anywhere else in the profile).

Nearer to the top, the rectangle shows a small acceptance of price in that area, which is conveniently above/at the top of yesterday's value which is also the top of the weekly value area, signaling more upwards acceptance.

today's top, circled, i think resembles what James Dalton refers to as a poor top, as it appears to be lacking the selling tail. If there is no selling tail, i beleive that implies the auction is not over as it has not yet found new sellers. Hence it must go up to find those sellers.

One-timeframing also stoppoed on Sunday/Monday with a lower profile than last Friday, but that was also held up by the previous weekly VAH. Could this be a similar occurence today? I think so, but still cautious up at this level.

OK, thanks for the clarification. Makes a lot of sense. If I understand you correctly, you share my observation that the size of sell orders above 1.42 are minuscule. Which says that the long-term participants aren't selling, and neither are the medium-term folks. It's only late-comers to the party like me squeezing the short side this eve.

So who, if anyone, is left on the selling side? I suppose we'll find out on Thursday. Then again, I'd trust the charts much more than any news event. After all, today's NFP was dollar bullish and look where the day ends. So for Thursday, perhaps this is what'll happen:

Yes, I agree! So, I ask/ponder about that longterm participant, question is......... Are they intersted in higher prices?

Relative to where were sitting on the quarterly, imo, again this is just my opinion. From the Quarterly Chart perspective. We ended the quarter above the QVAH @ 1.40065 "above value" "Overvalued" "Overpriced". If I feel that price will be higher in the future and I need to buy in bulk, I need to buy at a discount, "on sale". If I was trading this Quarterly TF where would prices be "on sale" ? "Below Value".
We seem to be forming balance. I merged the 2 Quarters and from the merged profile we closed inside value. Until we can hold a close above that @1.42072 area then Id rethink my opinion. That "lack of participation" makes me feel we need to build value in tha area, "Build enough long term interest". However, we are one timing on the monthly. I havent done all my analysis. But, it was just an opinion. If anyone has any points Im missing or something that I am not seeing, please share! I dont follow fundamentals at all, but I do try to Respect them.

From the basic MP stradegies info Ive shared, this would be the "general concensus"
