Ok has anyone traded with them FOR REAL? I mean, ignore the companies posts posing as traders. That's just stupid. Did any, of the long time members here, traded with them? For how long? Requoutes?

I trade with them daily.

Re-quotes aren't an issue but stops can slip a few fractions in a fast market, it happens about one in three times by 0.1-0.3 pips. Nothing major.

My stops get hit a lot because I move to B/E +1 very quickly and use them to protect positions and even take profit.

One thing I'd like to see from them is STOP buy/sell orders which they currently don't offer.

hmmm how do you move stops in lmax? I think I can only cancel them under Orders tab. So I trade with mental stops for now only.
Can a limit pending order be used as SL? Or will a hedging position be opened?

I don't use LMAX for charts, only for execution, but their charts would be fine to me.
I found a penny today. That's +100 pips for me.

You can edit stops, I do it all the time.

You click on the 'positions' tab and 'individual orders', you can then click on the stop and edit it.

I just wanted to point out to you by showing the plugin guide
that is isn't rubbish because there is the proof that the DO! rip people off
so if a poor trader allways blames his tools, maybe it's rightfully so.

Fair enough, but your original post did seem condescending towards in that you suggested I needed to understand bucket shops will rip me off. I've been in this 'game' for many years and I've see no such thing happen because I watch a number of live price feeds including banks that allow me to see if any one broker or feed is 'cheating' prices.

Anyway no hard feelings, you have your beliefs and I have mine - each to their own.


For everyone else who's trading with LMAX or considering using them I got an email yesterday which might be of interest.

As of this coming weekend (27th March) they are updating the platform to allow for STOP BUY/SELL orders; something I've been waiting for and will be happy to see.

Its sort of underwhelming that this is not a permanent change. LMAX is very late to the fx/cfd retail market - the pie for newcomers is small already. I think they need to be more agressive in order to get marketshare.

I thought the same thing at first but then you see a place like smart live markets that can startup and attract quite a bit of attention, start to think otherwise. Maybe they will be more aggressive on the acquisitionos front to establish themselves.

For anyone that's interested a little update.

I'm still using LMAX, only a couple of full size contracts at present, looking to move more across (5-10 lots/contracts) in the coming months.

I still use multiple platforms but would ideally use just one.

The spreads on LMAX have noticeably dropped. They used to be around 1.3-1.4 pips on EURUSD but now are often sat around 0.7pips and drop down to 0.0 on occasions, which is obviously excellent.

Fill is till very good, I've been slipped a handful of times and when it happens it's typically less than half a pip, 0.1-0.4. It happens less on entry, more so on stops, I'd say around a third of the time I'll slip 0.1-0.4.

That's nothing I haven't seen on other platforms when trading a number of full contracts/lots so I'm not too fussed with the odd 4th decimal slip.

No requotes as yet and I've placed ~150 trades with them now.

My current gripe with them is the commission because it's on BOTH trades (entry and exit), I'd like to see this reduced to one-way (entry) on larger accounts, or tailored commission schemes for larger accounts. If they can do this I'd be happy trading with them as my main broker/exchange.

I'll keep popping back with updates for those interested.

Watching this too. Hopwfully spreads stay this low and dont widen again, like when they started out.

DAX looks good too, often <0.5 points spread, less than 1 tick in the future. Footsie as well as U.S. indices aren't too bad either. Fixed income and commodity spreads dont look too appealing tho.

Their CEO keeps saying that they want to rely on customer liquidity more in the future instead of just their marketmakers. I think in order to make this happen at all, they need passive/agressive commissions like mbt.

Still, I like the simple (no frills) platform, spread and execution quality.

Do they still have that daily 5-15 minute market halt pause? Or are they really a 24H exchange now?

They completely shut down the platform between 10 and 10.30pm UK time which is a pain. Stops do not work during this period.

Trading is still going to plan but I've started to trade less these days, only one pair, once a day, sometimes twice if I need to but that's rare.

I still enjoy trading massively, I look forward to Monday mornings (who can say that about their job) even though I only trade an hour or so, my average trade time is 37 minutes 15 seconds - I love keeping stats.

My thread is dead, I don't really trade like that anymore. I've adapted and evolved even further, I've created a very clever risk system with numerous controls and it's fully automated based on rolling results, past trading statistics, probability and expectancy.

My spreadsheets are very complex, my trading remains simple and always will.
