MT4, of course, due to the abundance of indies and their lack of problems with crashing or hanging up.

GFT has, imho, some of the better Free charts available. The biggest problem with GFT is their charts really, really use up a whole bunch of you system resources. They will crash occasionally, or lock up. But they sure are pretty.

As with fxcm, don't enter a trade during news without having stops already in place. In fact if you have ever been using fxcm during news/high volume times, you may have had to wait several minutes for your fill, and then the fill may not be anywhere near your stop. A friend of mine ended up with a margin call when her stop wasn't filled during NFP. $7,000

thanks for the info, i rarely trade the news and haven't experienced the issues with fxcm yet, although you are not the first to mention the issues. i may look at gft.

Nice, I have been watching this from work and unfortunately I cannot trade from work. So, I just get to pretend that I entered that trade and pretend that I made money. That won't buy me lunch today, unforturnately.

I am glad that I am seeing the set-ups. Just need to find the time to make them work.

London is closed. Markets, quite often, have little or no follow thru this time of day. Div suggested trade time is over. Be careful.

I have been demoing Oanda`s mt4 platform and it looks good . Wil switch one of my live accts to them soon . Spreads are as good as a retail broker will offer . Also Oanda is big as a company , been around awhile and not likely to go out of business .

I nearly got sucked in today with this around the 15.20 M5 candle. I stayed out because I checked the higher timeframes for confirmation. So I saw a doji on the H1 and a number of M15 candles all in a row. This told me stay out.

I guess the trend changer really was at 14140...!

I don't know much about Oanda spreads but the scuttlebutt I've heard has generally been favorable.

1.1 pip spread right now on EU . Of course mt4 demo is free to try . One other plus for those trading with small accts , Oanda has no min deposit as far as I know

As Div as talked about with support and resistance. The bigger support was down further at around the 1.4140 area. The bounce up higher today was testing smaller and less significant support. That doesn't mean that it won't go down to the 1.4140 area but until it goes that far, any trades in the short direction are still "counter-trend" trades.

I am still looking for long signals. If it drops below the bounce this morning and then retests it and heads down, I may take a pullback going towards 1.4140. That will depend on what it looks like.

Also, it seems that some are trying to find several trades in a day. Read what Div has said about the number of trades in a month. There certainly are not more than 1 trade a day average. That means you may get zero trades on some days. Wait for the correct set-up and don't try to jump the system and make it something it is not. I tried this, it does not work. There are not set-ups happening all day on every pair all the time. If this was the case, Div would be a bazzillionaire! We all would.
