Thank You , for a great indicator, I am still working with getting the best settings and I think resetting after the NewYork close is a good starting point. It works well with another system I am using, another indi from trading arsenal, the kor harmonics v.67.11 testing version, you can check it out at ampzone.org

Here's a chart of my profiles. As previously posted, the trend is now down. The current day's profile is a pretty normal distibution type day.

A question was asked about using the POCs as trend determination. Let's take a look.

Suppose we define trend in the following ways:

1. Two consecutive lower POCs (POCvs) is a down trend.
2. Two consecutive higher POCs (POCvs) is an up trend.
3. Two lower POCvs out of the last three days is a down trend.
4. Two higher POCvs out of the last three days is an up trend.

Starting 4 profiles back, the trend is clearly up. We have two consecutive high POCvs.

The next profile forms a lower POCv. However, we now have two higher POCvs out of the last three days so the trend is still up.

Moving forward to the next profile. This profile has a higher POCv. So again we have two of the last three days with a higher POCv than the previous day. The up trend continues.

The last profile, or current profile, changes things. Now we have two lower POCvs out of the last three days.

So by these definitions, we have just began the down trend.

The question is how you use the information. If you only trade in the direction of the trend, you are only now looking for shorts. If you were using value, you would have only been looking for shorts for the last 2 days. If you are willing to go long or short regardless of trend, then it matters less.

a correlation with higher timeframes is also useful - if you look at weekly profiles and value areas, the trend is not going down yet

Well, as I said in another thread, I am much more myopic. I'm trying to cut down on what I look at. Currently I only look at 2.5 charts: the daily profile chart and then my trading screen as seen below.

As a tape reader trading off a 5 min chart, the weekly is only clutter.

hey guys, haven't been trading much this week unfortunately...or maybe fortunately as I was not thinking EU would drop this far down this week...

My current thinking...the naked weekly POC at 3674 looks like its going to be visited as price approaches last week's VAL and no significant volume to stop this current move. with only 1 US session left in the week, it looks very much like this week's POC will be around 1.39, making it the next mid term target to the upside, but that will ultimately depend where EU closes this week/today as we've just seen this week's VAL being rejected by a ND at GMT 00:00 4 hr bar (last green bar)

well, we'll have to see what the rest of the day has in store for EU, but i guess is should not post during an IB

My last post was with 15min remaining in the NY IB, and practically at the very moment EU reversed. Upon 2nd look at my charts, i realized the longer term S/R levels that i was neglecting. Today's drop was right to February's VAH. and with about 5 hours of trading left, today is shaping up to look like a hidden test of that VAH.

there is certainly supply in the 3850 area as can be seen on smaller TFs - this is today and yesterday's VAH - so bulls not out of the woods just yet, but from an AMT perspective, the value area and POC have stopped moving down on the daily TF and today's profile is forming a 'p' shape. Again, we'll have to wait for the day's close to be sure, but this could be signalling a move to 3930 which is March's VAH and October's POC. And since we are still in November's value, the move to its VAH around 4150 is still possible IMO.

Brilliant idea HG: lower POCs for 2 of the last 3 days. I really like this idea dude, great.

To me trend is very very important, with my purely VSA account I trade only in the direction of the four hour trend.

In my (smaller AMT learning account) I've been experimenting with different kinds of entries, ranging from limit orders at clusters of confluence to VSA in any direction etc.

Once again I really like that idea HG did you come up with it?

Edit:

BTW on Thursday I took a loss at that weekly POC I posted, pretty bone headed considering the trend was straight down lol. I think I'll incorporate this new trend definition into my AMT account, fuckin A brother.

If you don't mind me asking how do you determine the 4hr trend? Many days / weeks the 4hr looks pretty choppy overall but we had some nice intermediate trends...

Haha yeah I'm doing super!

Just got home from work. I'm going to look at EU for a while then nap on it for a couple hours then out with the boys tonight. Gonna hit up some bars, and it's great that one of them lives close enough to walk.
