Not good PR for MBT regardless (being down), but it's unrealistic to expect real-time solutions in a 3rd party forum.

For any that do resolve or contact MBT, it would be valuable to post back here with what the closure and reason was.
I contacted them and they said "extended rollover" when I ask what the hell was that, the guy could not answer the question.

Extended rollover occurs if they have issues at clearing (5 pm EST rollover) either with some of the banks coming back up or with the clearing process itself. They can't bring the system up until a certain number of banks are connected correctly. I just sat down and both my Desktop and MT4 accounts can trade fine. If you actually are getting like an OffQuotes message trying to close a trade, I suggest calling them as the platform could be up but your order might be stuck depending on where it was when they had the issue.

I am not getting offquotes, I get no connection if I try to close a trade.

I would call them. Everything has been fine here since I sat down. More likely, your order is stuck out to a bank.

Well, look like MBT is not as reliable as I had hoped to be. Much as I hate it, time to continue looking for a better and more reliable broker.

Sorry to hear about the issues this evening. Sorry also that I’m not here 24/7, but this is not a support board. We’re here to discuss anything you want, but please do not mistake that for the idea that I am the one to solve a live trade issue you may have. I do tend to work during the early part of the day for forex hours here in the US because that is the active time, so I’m not always sitting right here by the slow part of the day and afternoon. It looks like we did have an extended clearing maintenance this evening at rollover that is long since resolved. Everything seems to be flying through fine now, but if you experience an issue with a trade, please call the trade desk as they are the only ones that can help you with that. All I could have done even if I was sitting here would have been to tell you the same. Sometimes when this occurs, there are residual issues on existing trades, so I always suggest that you try to adjust your s/l and t/p and make sure it works for each of your trades.

Whatever trading strategies, for it to work well, you must have a speedy and reliable execution of your orders. How else to trade when the platform is having problem with connections, trade executions and all that? If you can't even enter a trade, how to trade?

Never trust reliable executions 15 min before or after:
*NFP release
*MBT maintenance

i can understand your frustration as well,i was caught in this kind of situation before and nothing was done,its like another day for MBT! they can claim that they are rolling out this plan that plan to save monies for the traders but if once disconnected fr the platform,there is absolutely nothing that we,as traders can do!!! so,i think before MBT think abt saving monies for the traders,they should invest monies to improve their connectivity,etc of the platform and also make sure that the quotes fr Both Live MT4 and Live Desktop Pro ALIGNS,i have both Live acct and fr time to time,they dont ALIGN!

Roughtrader,

Problems were solved hours ago, what exactly are you experiencing? Did you call the trade desk? As I said above, everything should be working fine, if you have a trade issue, the desk can solve it for you as everything is functioning for execution on our end.

Yup, I was observing their price movement on Demo acct for both their mt4 platform and their desktop pro yesterday. What I saw was that mt4 price (with occasional hanging) moved down together with other mt4 broker (I use Alpari mt4 to double check) but desktop pro price still stuck at about 50pips away from the mt4 mkt price.

I called them on the live chat to ask if their demo was on a different price feed from their live feed and was told that they are the same! When I told them what happened and asked why, all I got in reply was "Sorry that we did not meet your standard". I was speechless!

I'm glad I was able to experience this BEFORE I put money with them. In fact I was thinking about opening an account with them but after last night, I think I'll perish that thought.

You should spend some time reading this thread, you'll find better answers. The Demo and Live feeds can't be the same as Limit orders in the Live environment interact with real trades and change the quotes, while Demo does not. Both start with the same STP quotes from banks, but the Live feed is different with the addition of ECN quotes. But, to be very specific, what this means is that they are SEPARATE feeds in any sense. They will not match. Now, they shouldn't be off by much, so when you say that the Demo feed was 50 pips away, that just sounds like the delivery of the Demo feed got stuck.

I've conntacted trade desk and got answer like others about extended rollover time.

I'm not waiting that someone on this board will respond. I'm posting it here to encourage MBT to work hard on improving some issues, because some features with MBT are interesting. I know, recently I was only ranting on this thread, but I hope it will make them for good. Some work is needed with this rollover time, because every month there is some strange, longer downtime.

This was what I thought and I asked them to confirm this, but they replied that their price feed in demo is the same as the live price feed and that both mt4 and their desktop pro should show the same price. But when I asked them why the difference, they just brushed me off with "Sorry that we did not meet your standard". What kind of help desk is that?
