DislikedSteve,
i had another "true" mq4 version of Dollar Index with me, probably from Scoobs BOJ thread long time ago (not sure though... doesn't matter anyway!)
I have attached it here for you.
The overall idea is the same, the index calc is the same, mine only has 2 additional SMAs on top of the Index line, so you can ignore it.
"My" code however can be taken out into the EA much more easily
Here is what you really need:
-- you might want to take care of the pairnames "exotic extensions" (like "EURUSDm")
[code]
// "i" is the bar shift...Ignored
DislikedCheers whip. The calculation multiplier needed an extra 0.

DislikedI just noticed we appear to be into one of those bound/unbound thingies again, like we had with Bob's RWB.
Are you up for a challenge? Do you fancy amalgamating the two into an uber-indi whose code we can import into the EA?
Cheers

double GetBrianIndex(int timeframe, int shift) { static double weeklyClosePrice=0; // CAUTION: this requires to have called GetBrianIndex() at the beginning of each week!!! int thisbar = iBarShift(NULL, timeframe, Time[shift], TRUE); if ((TimeDayOfWeek(iTime(NULL, timeframe, thisbar)) == 1 && TimeDayOfWeek(iTime(NULL, timeframe, thisbar + 1)) == 5) || (TimeDayOfWeek(iTime(NULL, timeframe, thisbar)) == 0 && TimeDayOfWeek(iTime(NULL, timeframe, thisbar + 1)) == 5)) weeklyClosePrice = iClose(Symbol(), timeframe, thisbar + 1); return ((iClose(Symbol(), timeframe, shift) - weeklyClosePrice) / MarketInfo(Symbol(), MODE_POINT)); }

" THE CROSSING OF BRIANS INDEX WITH THE DOLLAR INDEX "
Now what the hell does that mean ?...

DislikedSURE!
I just need to understand how to merge these indexes into one.
What should i do with those 2 indexes ?
Otherwise, FYI, here Brian's Index heart, as far as i could understand it from the indi code :
[code]double GetBrianIndex(int timeframe, int shift)

Dislikedif you plot the dollarindex and brianindex in the same subwindow, on the eurusd chart, they look almost mirror one to the other.
This is somewhat expected, as eurusd's weight in the dollarindex is very high.
However, when you have it on m15 for instance, and zoom in or out, you can clearly see that the "crossing points" are completely different...
So we need to know exactly how brijon uses that on his charts.
A typical screenshot along with the settings would be much appreciated.
The same indexes, chart and tf, just a different chart zoom:...Ignored
DislikedI only use the 4 hour chart for this the sizzor action is best from the widest extremes going to center cross of both
one can put lines on 50% and fib 23.6 and 61.8 using williams
percentage rangE indicater none and adding in these parameters
when both lines of dollar and the brians index mod are running parallel this is a warning no go zone
50% level of cross is often associated with change of major trend
but the higher range is like the newsprofiteer meter of higher differences between the doLlar and the currency you are trading
