Ok I have had and still having issues with installing .ex4 files on my terminal as it crashes it everytime i try to flip btw timeframes. I think this is a result of Win Vista and Win7.as it doesnt do so on XP..Also it doesnt do so on some terminals like Alpari and Insta.. I will attach the .mq4 version.....But please..FREELY IT WAS GIVEN ..FREELY IT SHOULD BE PASSED. My settings is Risk of 6 on M15 to H1, Idnt trade against the trend,I exit with 20pips TP2,use TP1=false.I have found that M30 works well. please dont take signals against...

Starlimit,
I forgot to thank you for your coding efforts on the golden fingure EA!!! I am going to be testing it out today and trading with it tomorrow.

I had a look at it. so far looks great! Can it be back tested?

starlimit, thanks for all your efforts!!!
The beauty of the system is that it works well in a ranging market AND trending market. EU 1min Risk 25 take profit 12, then break even, let the rest run only during L+NY sessions.
The last session was incredible, with 5 x 12 pips + 48 extra 'running' pips with only a draw down of 28 pips max and that at a very ranging market.

The Goldenfinger indicator is incredible accurate and matched with the EA will be a stunning system. If I can help with any tests let me know.

Big thanks!

How are you getting the second half of your trade to break even?

I know that 50% of the trade is taken out at tp1 but what do you have for tp2?

I had a look at the latest EA source file and I noticed that the OrderSend has the SL and TP fields filled in. This won't work with American brokers like IBFX.

You have to do OrderSend with the SL and TP fields set to 0 and then set the SL and TP with OrderModify after the initial order fills.

Also, the indicator name was changed from the original from "Golden Finger" to "GoldenFinger" so it couldn't find the indicator.

I took the liberty of making the necessary mods. I've had to put similar code in my own EAs to handle this situation.

You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

Cubbybgood, I was not able to use the EA, did the trading manually... For now I am using Steve's 'Multipurpose Trade Manager' to do the managing of the trades... breakeven @12 pips take out .80 lots let 0.2 run until next signal from the Goldenfinger indy.

I am sure starlimit will get it to work...

Hi,

I've just installed the system from the first post. However the red bars and histograms are missing. I've just got the gold and silver dots (see screenshot attached). How do I get these to display?

In the screenshot attached there is no corresponding "Sell" / "TP" signal towards the right of the chart. Should my TP be 40 pips above the SL that is shown as the silver dot on the chart? When coming to sell, should my TP be 40 pips below the the previous TP dot?

Also in the first post it says to use only EURO AND GU? I see others using GBP/USD which I dabble with but is this indicator suitable for this pair?

What is GU?

Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

stevegee, you did it!

Thank you very very much. It takes trades now. I haven't had the chance to test the tp feature...

Who ever wants to try this system, make sure that the indicator is called 'Golden Finger' and not 'GoldenFinger' (with space!).

Thank you starlimit and stevegree for your time and generosity and chubby for finding this great indicator!

Greetings from Canada.

to those who have contributed so far.... Personally I think the whole essence of the thread is to help assist eachother as much as possible. The EA on eitherside still needs a lot of modifications. I currently trade it with the trend which gives me a great R:R I am currently working on range filters{ to enable it detect possible ranging market} which wouldauto matically change its conditions for placing orders. i.e conditions for trending would be different from ranging. As observed even on M1 with RISK>=22 it rakes in profit most of the time. Also on Higher Time frame a reduced RISK e.g 4, is very good when used with the lower time frame.
For coders in the house,I was hoping we could get the EA to scan all time frame{ selectable by the user} and determine which fits for an Order based onthe criteria for the time frame. so there wouldnt be the need to attach multiple EAs on same pair.In my earlier EA I stated the EAmakes use of the GoldenFinger no space- this was because I couldnt instal the Golden Finger.ex4 due to crashing issues of .ex4 on my terminal. Also for those that would want to modify the code yet further,I would appreciate if it is not found in any cormercial site as we all know it takes eeffort to code these EAs and "FREELY IT WAS GIVEN". So All the best in our trades.Best of PIPS ahead

Thanks for pointing that out, Silicius. I was wondering what I was doing so wrong. Then I put a space in the indicator name, and it all fell into place. You guys are all great. I'm learning much on this thread - It is like the school of the forex life Hopefully, before long, all this learning will translate to consistent success

If I might add to the wishlist :

- ability to place 2 orders. One with tp target, one with trailing stop
- trading hours

Yes, and a range filter would be awesome as well.

Hi FXN00B-

What platform did you install this on? You may just need to make sure you're loading the template and applying it to the chart, and not loading the individual indicators one by one.
It's a one-way ticket to a madman situation.

Hi Fxn00b,
have you installed the indicators and template in the proper folders? If you have, all you need to do is open a chart, the GBPUSD you've posted for instance, then apply the template to it. everything will come up beautifully like all the charts you see posted in the thread.

Are you new to FF threads? When you've posted here long enough, you'll get used to shorthand like EU for EURUSD, GU for GBPUSD and several others like that. The communication simply flows more easily that way, dont you think so?

As for sl and tp, I think we are all trying to see how we can touch and tweak this system and make it a consistently winning one. Don't let someone tell you to place them here or there like the 'gurus' do When you instal your template properly, it will be appreciated if you do some testing (on your demo, of course) and let us know the settings that work for you. That is what all the other generous guys are doing on this and many of the other threads you see on FF. Take some time to read all the posts...you might just see some improvements that were made to the system but not reflected on the first page.

Wishing you all good things

Trading rules...at least what works for me.
-1 trade a day each pair win or loss
-40 pip TP on each trade.
-SL, Signal in opposite direction.
-Wait for only valid signal as shown in the pic to up your win %
- Trade only EU and GU
-start trading at 6 am EST and wait till you find your trades. Usually with in 3 hours you're done.
- have discipline and keep to the strategy.

hi, cubbybgood, I have some questions:

1. which timeframe to use in this stratey, 1h? yes, it's 1h.
2. do you mean to enter(buy or sell) immediately after a 1h bar is closed and all the signals are in same color?
3. Also, for SL, do you mean to SL after a 1h bar is closed and one of the three signals(golden varitey, fisher m11, flat trend) changes color.
4. It looks like there is nothing to do with the support and resistence level showed in my screenshot.
5. do you mean, there is no way to backtest this strategy? only foreward test?
6. for "+709 pips on the EU ", how many trades did you take? how many lose? and win? how many pips did you lose each time?

thanks in advance.

Thanks soooo much! too many posts to read.

He just deleted it, because that indicator repaints itself!

What this method can achieve.

The golden figure only lets me do a visual back test for 1 month per pair but last month alone both pairs combined pulled in +1262 pips. +709 pips on the EU and +553 on the GU.

the 709 pips maybe not correct?

accually, I figure out a way to backtest it. use the strategy tester!

What rules are your backtests fallowing?
Rules on the first post or just using gold finger? I ran a backtest using my rules on first post and results were 500+ pips.
