Afternoon Guys,

New poster here but I've been lurking for quite a few months. I've had an interest in trading from only mid last year, but it's been quite a journey.

I'd like to say a massive thanks to the big man, Jarroo and Mike, who I've learnt so much from . Seeing your chart posts has been invaluable. And a thanks to all other contributors. I still have miles to go but hoping I can give something back here in the mean time.

I mainly follow the majors but here's one I'm looking at on swiss yen. It's bounced very near potential...

Hey Sgrb1 and Welcome,

Your charts are very suitable here . .especially this one . . ..

Yes a big Weekly/Daily level . . .BRN 85.00, Fib confluence 618 .. yes you can call it a double fib confluence, the more the confluences the better . . .I have the 365 ema lining up with this level too.

You can see the nice consolidation boxes lining up with this level as well.

Now we just need some nice bullish PA to confirm the level as Support.

Good eye, Sgrb1 ..

Thanks for the welcome Jarroo. Would you consider the swiss yen a candidate for blind touch considering the confluence or do you always look for PA? I think you may have already covered this recently in the thread so apologies.

I think a few people may be feeling the pain with this unexpected move in Euro this evening. Let's see where we close the day..

Hi guys...

Possible great setup on EU

1) Div
2) Nice weekly ppz zone
3) Trendline
4) 365 ema
5) 50% FIB
6) PA

Let see if we get a nice PA on that area.

Os.

If the market slows this evening and this daily bar remains roughly the same, still at the 61.8% retracement, is there any compelling reason not to call it an IPB?

I wouldn't like to see the close any lower, but as it is, is the nose long enough?

All thoughts much appreciated

Here ya go..

Yeah... im gonna pass on this one as I dont see any story for taking the trade just beob with a nice div.. if we had a rejection of the 1.3060 it will change my views but just as it is.. I dont have enough confluence to take it and as you said we´ve got FTA around 1.29-1.2960

Os.

This level around the 1.3100ish level may revert back to Support.

But I like the 1.3200 as Resistance where you have your PB drawn . .

Potential here on EURCAD. Bullish engulfing on the daily at a RN, a retracement on the bar would take us to the previous H4 highs, probably with fib confluence. Only negative being against the very strong daily trend.

Open to criticism on anything here

This is a good point Os, about the Close of the IPB and another point of the Low of the IPB.

I see that ghous saw validity of this IPB, probably because he saw that the mechanics of the IPB were being met.

I (and ghous) veiw the IPB just like any other PA formation . .so the Size, Location, how they close, etc. are all important factors in qualiying the good ones.

The Low of this bullish IPB could have been better . . we like to see them lower than the previous bar low. I like to us a proxy Low/High of the previous bar if the other factors...
Ignored

Target hit Ghous . .

I didn't take this one because of the close was below the 125.00 BRN. . .trust me, I looked at other feeds . .lol

But it still worked out as expected.

Yeah it wasn't A+ because of the close, too bad its the only thing that was going against it,

That did work out fine indeed.

It shows the strength of this PA when the structural and locational aspects are being met.

..I know that the depictions here are AAA+ and are not to often found in real live, and it is therefore of interest what a experienced trader would do in other circumstances or in the less perfect situations.

your question was very general in nature & one that has really no single answer.
trades are taken & managed on a case to case basis. aside from that, 2 or ore traders will see &/or trade a particular setup very differently.
take a very recent case. see below.
we are only talking of a single Trendline here.
all of us will have different views, different trading ways.

Hey Jon.. Looking @ our different TL's on Cable, in your case the TL would support your initial thought to sell Cable as it closes below your TL, in my case on the other hand the TL would support the thought to buy Cable, because price broke and pulled back right to the TL...

I'm trying to figure out why the .9880 worked out so well as a PPZ than the .9850. . . .

Clear, recent level may be one reason .. .

Same here.

The PB was not that bullish but I played it like a PB together with a breakout trade. Nice bullish divergence, also.

Set my TP cause I wouldn´t be here for a few hours and it was reached to the pip
