Posting some charts as i promised... My entry was missed by 5 pips, but then i re-entered the trade a little lower and took some profit now.

Hi Racs,

I have been following your trades for some time now, originally in the J16 thread and now here.

I am intrigued by your decision to take the EURUSD long at the 1.3180 level. The S/R in that area is very clear however it looks to me like the EURUSD is still going to maintain it's recent bearish bias.

Was this just a short term trade or are you using the 1hr TF on this occasion to more accurately (cheaply) enter a longer term BUY and hold position in the pair.

If it's the former I can understand easily however if it is the beginning of a longer term trade I am not sure I get your logic.

If you get the time it would be great to get your feedback on this.

And I agree with you on the bias... Euro will be on its knees next year, so will many indexes, but......
It doesn't restricts me from taking short term positions, while I'm waiting for a trade of the year type of setup, right ?

Just wasn't sure if I was missing something major...

Nice trade by the way, 1.32 handle is putting up more of a fight that I initially expected to see.

I was looking forward to riding the EUR down, but damn, if the Stock indexes crash, my retirement funds will go to hell in a hand basket.

Just a question,i know i don't know how to find exhaustion yet.
Neither do i know anything about it,but am i on the close track of using S/R correctly for finding exhaustion.
When i believe.
It works on past swing low/high combination with present one.
And strong PPZ at flip regions.
And Previous areas of Exhaustion.
Boxed formation around the Strong PPZ,ie boxes on top of each other.

Not sure I understand the question Taz..

If it comes to price exhaustion, don't bother. It can be tricky and you can be wrong more that right. Simply use PA to guide your trades and you'll be right more often than wrong...

I'm currently trying to regain my strength and my ability to read the market again, being suffer for a lack of confidence lately.

What will happen here a rebound or a pause and continuation? I'll stay nimble for any outcome.

bought some eur to, I'm not that pessimistic about the euro,quite contrary.

It will be nice if we'll se till the end of the year 1.37 where I'll be looking out for a short opportunity.

For quite a while, last several month, I've observed an unusual correlations between fiber,cable and S&P.

Usually,if fiber goes down, cable goes down in "sympathy", too.

But in the last several months the correlation is : EUR/USD down, S&P => GBP/USD up.

GBP/USD shows remarkable strength during S&P weakness.

what's your opinion about this?

Market constantly evolves and changes and you have to adjust your trading as well. If it was stagnant, statistics would be reversed:

95% winners, 5% losers. It will never happen...

wait till mid Jan, 2011. It will come back. Traders are in Holidays mode right now...

I've seen this repeat year after year, it always behave the same. look in 2008,2009 drops.....when it fell off the cliff. It fell so fast it had some voilent spikes up. but why? i didnt see it then, but i understand now. .i have a different outlook now when looking at this. those bounces were predictable levels.

only time will tell

edit: next year crude will be fun to look at it. the right question is HOW HIGH it will go?
