The best traders are those who don't like publicity. They have huge amounts of funds under mngmt from a few investors and they like to be quiet. Also the best traders are very good philosophers and... philosophers have a very different mentality. imo.

LOL If I really make it to the top, I won't even bother getting some investors to manage their money. The stress of dealing with people is not worth it especially when there is money involved. And besides, if I have found a way to make good money consistently, why should I share it with others besides family members and friends by managing their money?

If they are rich enough to give me their money, then they don't need to make more money.

If they don't have money to give me, then they should be able to make their own money and if they can't find a way to make more money. Tough!!

IF I really made it, I would just take my money and buy a property in one of those warm places, trade from there, donate to charities from time to time and enjoy the rest of my life quietly...

How about the top prop firms and hedge funds in the world... are they really only directional trading? Absolutely not.

Ah well, like the French says "Chacun son goût"!

I just know I would never want to manage other ppl's money unless I feel I really want to help somebody with something good that I have developed.

In a few years, when I learn about this OPM, I MIGHT change my mind or I might not but I will leave it for me to decide in a few years. BUT one thing is for sure, enjoyment of life stress-free with comfortable financial means is my ultimate goal, money is just a tool.

As I said, I'm not going to convince anyone. Just a quick note: the stress won't be to much of a problem when you have more experience, because you will have a finished trading plan, and because you built your business plan(it takes a few years) the risk is in tolerable limits and your level of stress is lowered substantial. george soros said that risk comes from not knowing what you are doing and if you don't know your risk, this lead to fear> fear leads to stress because you don't know what you are doing. but an experienced trader know what he is doing and he know what is his risk on the market and as long as you keep risk low, you will not be so stressed anymore.(note: you can't eliminate risk entirely , <<risk>> is the essence of capitalism, you can't get alpha without taking risk and have some levels of beta).

It's silly. Like a westerner arguing with Asian that bread is better than rice. Who cares which one is better ? Whatever makes you happy is good for you.

If you arent sure which one is better, just give it a shot. Get first hand experience.

That's not the kind of stress that I am talking about. Honestly I don't get stressed because of losses that I incur due to my inexperience. Losses are the just the flip-side of winning and if I can't handle losses, I wouldn't be a trader. And when I incurred losses because of something that I didn't know, I am actually happy because I have learned something new and would have perfected my trading plan.

The kind of stress that I don't want to deal with are the ones that stem from dealing with people. Dim-witted deuchbags who can't and don't bother to understand what I do and then feel they have the right to give me s*** and tell me what to do just because they felt they have given me their money and I lost 1 cent of it.

Stress from dealing with people is the worst kind there is; it tops everything else because it really gets under your skin.

She made 800 million yen ($9 million) on the dollar.

Hi guys. It is not easy to trade forex. This is a cut-throat business with even more cut-throat traders. The stress, the research, the not-knowing of whats going to happen next is more than enough for many people to stay away from this highly-charged world. I did look into it, and I swear I discarded the forex-trading idea in a blink of an eye! My advice is to find a trustworthy forex trader, invest a small amount with this trader and then see how it goes. If you are happy with what u see, then u can invest more and hopefully u will enjoy the healthy profits/dividends without all the stress of being in the business. This is exactly what I did and I am sooo happy. Remember, being greedy will lead to your downfall. If you r going to use a trader, invest small and then see what happens

I agree for the most part. When people hear that I trade/manage currencies and commodities for a living, they tell me that it's either gambling or too easy to do. So, I tell them to challenge my returns (20% average a month) and their capital literally "burns alive." When I witness their inevitable fate, it provides me with entertainment and amusement. Quite frankly, I have no respect and patience for anyone that belittles this occupation with their ignorance and arrogance.

To be a professional in any field, you need to gain years of proper education, training and experience. If you share the common, ignorant mentality of most people in believing that trading is easy to learn, you will never gain success in this field.

Big does not always mean better. Long-term profits are more important.

My forex manager has paid for past 10 years average profit of +35% per annum (without compounded). He manages about $100 million. I think he is the most successful forex trader.
