Ichimoku trading journal

I am long on EUR/USD. I will update the outcome. mtlive.com doesn't update the accounts anymore. I hit the $10,000 mark on my oldest demo (2 months old). So far, the demo balance is tripled. I am still trying to improve my understanding the Ichimoku system. It is a good idea to get back to basics and go over and over again. I still struggled to see currency trading as a business even though it is a business. It takes time to shape the idea. I used to run my own business years ago and had success but at the moment I work 7 days a week in two jobs in health care trying to pay all my debts and I hope FX will help me to have income on the side and my ultimate financial goal is to be debt free.

I just took 60 pips profit trading EUR/USD in my real and demo accounts. I was long. I am trading NZD/USD short which was a stupid entry but am trading very small (0.01).

I am long EUR/JPY, and GBP/JPY. I will study charts and decide where to enter/exit next week.

I am still short NZD/USD. I took some profits trading that pair and traded some EUR/USD before sleep.

Now, I am back to work.

Both pairs are bullish and it's a good opportunity to go long but make sure check the news as well to confirm your entry.

I took some profits today. It was a fairly slow day. It started fast but then died down. I shorted EUR/USD, AUD/USD, and longed GBP/JPY, and EUR/JPY.

I still have some open trades and we should see some action on the EUR side. I didn't post any charts but studied some on the weekend and spent some reading Ichimoku Forever here on FF.

rather than, playing so many currencies, why not just focus on 2 or 3 currencies like big one, aud/usd, euro/usd, usd/cad or whatever you prefer. I believe only picking two currencies will help you to get your goal faster, because not only is more focus and you can study the pair pattern in-depth.

You have a good point. However, the Ichimoku system can be used for any currency as long as the entry point is good. I tested it with other pairs and commodities just to test the system and it works. I believe the strength comes from its being testing for almost 20 years. Anyway, good luck to you.

I am trading live as well but in very small size. I am looking for consistency and trading what I see and trying to leave emotions aside while trading.

I am reading Tarp's "Trading for living" which I bought last year. I ordered and am waiting for Patel's Ichimoku book.

Good day turned bad for me. I just took some losses on EUR/CAD. I was short but the pair turned bullish and will probably go up. I intentionally cut the trade even though I lost all i made since yesterday. Oh well, the small loss is better than bigger loss. I live and learn.

I thought about why lost today. It was funny after I intentionally closed all the trades the pair came to where I would profit. I came to conclusion that I need to master my risk to reward issue and I need to stop being greedy.

Took huge risks today but rewarded pretty good. I made over $250 in real account thanks to EUR/USD fall. I am using Ichimoku and ichi 360 indicator. Ichi 360 indicator gives you in a glance what the trend is. Here is the link for the indicator if anyone is interested to try:

I am short on EUR/USD and long on USD/CAD. In my H1 and H4 charts it is still bullish. We will probably see some consolation as a reaction to the Irish bailout on the EUR/USD side.

I closed the positions by profit. I don't want to trade on the face of uncertainty. I will wait for tomorrow to see how the market will react to Irish bailout and will ride the trend accordingly.

I made some profit today and will probably not trade until Wednesday. You can check out my live demo result which I posted here in my earlier postings.

I am long on this pair. The pair is very bullish on the longer time frames.

Just traded this pair and got my loss back from the USD/JPY pair. I was badly wrong about USD/JPY even though all the news was in favor of long and the chart in long seems long but the pair came down. There is a strong resistance over 84.350 areas. Anyway, I am done with trading today and need to head to read some books and then to my day job. Happy trading everyone. Play safe and prosper

I took big risks and played big again. It was quite dangerous and I was lucky. I need to stop and trade small and safe. I just finished Patel's Ichimoku book and it is an excellent book. I would recommend it definitely. Ebook version of the book sucks because Kobo application on my PC doesn't show images and I emailed Kobo but so far no fix yet. Anyway, I am about to head out and will check the FF on and off from work today. Please be careful with EUR/USD especially now before Bernanke speaks there is a lot of movement on the pair.

I opened some trades but missed the big move on EUR/USD. At the moment, I am:

- Short on EUR/AUD
- Long on EUR/USD
- Short on USD/CAD
- Long on USD/CHF

I am playing small and my losses won't be more than $10 each pair if I lose.

I will go out and enjoy the day. I finished Patel's book and started reading it the second time. I am especially trying to understand more of Kumo clouds and am not very clear about Kumo Shadows. I will study it and try to understand it.

As summary, Ichimoku is an excellent system but news can create havoc. Play safe and small.
