now my question is since time cycle is dynamic where it contracts and expands,

How and when do we know that the market changes its heartbeat/ pulse?

Sorry, it might be a dumb question but I'd like to see more possibilities.

Hello xtsunami,

I believe there is definitely some validity to the element of time in these price patterns. The charts you have shown seem to bear that out. I think that was one of Gann's concepts.

One thing is for sure, when price is ready to change directions, it will say so one way or another .

Just commenting that Andrews' did consider the time element. He was of the opinion that Pitchfork traders were among the few who had an idea in advance where the next price target would be and about when it would get there. Forks show both. Amazing tool!

Thank you from me too, and good question.

Until now I am still " digesting " the very first cadjpy and gold forks that xtsunami showed us. We can see " ranges in price/time " repeat, we see angles repeat and this alone gives me a lot to experiment with.

The most simple turning point ( for me ) is still taking the previous highest high, the lowest low and the major horizontal levels as inflection points. And as Xtsunami says price can accelerate, reverse or stall.

My problem is : after the fact I can understand or admire the precision, but putting real money on the line in the actual moment is something else. Thats why I said maybe best to practice on higher TF first, to have the really strong and obvious points.

example Dow Jones daily : having seen the center line, the square in advance, would I be able to act on that ( e.g. sell Dow call options, or sell audusd ) ?

Much to learn here, really great quality.

I wish you pleasant reading this newsletter.
"Time is an interesting concept. I say concept because Time is not a thing - it is an idea - in the Mind wholly. The Rosicrucians, that says "mind assigns dimension". In other words Mind (consciousness/experience) is the measure or metrology of that observed/experienced. In the case of Time we observe a sunrise and the Sun's path through our sky - which is to say - earth's orbit or journey around its primary (year) as also its rotation upon its axis (day). This phenomenon is divided into discrete pieces dividing a circle into more or less equal parts. This method gives us a "Time Ruler" by which the progression or passage of events may be tabulated or marked.
More concisely the earth's movement around the Sun is an event. This event is divided into segments or spaces; i.e., so much space covered in so much elapsed "Time". It has been said:
"Time, in its simplest definition, is the progression of events."
This is an agreeable definition for the reasons presented. This definition may be extend to include the variability of the event so described. This being earth's orbit which is not circular but is elliptical where the earth, in its travels around the Sun, is constantly changing velocity resulting in days of variable lengths. Time compresses and expands!
"Time decreases with potential. Time decreases with decrease in radius."
Another repetitive event occuring in the Mind of Man is music. A cycle in practiced music is the bar and this bar is divided discretely into a measure of Time.
It would be folly to separate Time from the events to which it is locked and of which it is the measure. Time is not a thing unto itself but an attribute of cyclical periodicity (change). It could be described in a more or less scientific manner as the "degree of change" or "rate of change" of a rhymically occuring event.In this regard it is correct to state Time cannot be solely a "measure of space".
Music is a system of pulses of a given frequency fitted into a specific time reference. i.e., so many notes sounded within a measure (of time). This would result in a long cycle modulated with intermittent higher frequency tones. This appears to be especially true in the case of triplets (three tones sounded where two are timed for)."

Hello MSMarple,

Like your charts. I am sure Gann had concepts that worked well for him. Wondering about the squaring...if you use 90 days (one quarter) on the time axis, how can traders standardize the scale on the y-axis (price) to ensure a square as you have, as the vertical squaring distance may be different depending on the scales used, maybe even screen sizes etc. Just wondering...

Good day Msmarple,
this is a daily chart and you chose 90 trading days as the time (base for the square). Please help me under stand how this period is selected in relation to other T/F.

For exmple, if was a one hour chart or a 5 minutes chart, how would we have determined the period to use as the base for the square?

It is my hope to keep this thread free of the digression on intellectual pursuit of the concepts of time, whether from the theoretical physicist, philosopher, or theologian.

I feel your dilemma. I don't understand why the free forum was taken down. If you have problem posters, people sharing passwords and such then ban them, block ip addresses, there's many ways to accomplish this without closing the site and punishing everyone. That being said, the subject matter being discussed here currently is light years ahead of any other public forum's subject matter regarding forks and time/price that I've read in several years. Most folks just don't openly share anything other that the basic kiddy-meal concepts, complete with matching his and hers toy indicator.

Last few days we been dining on T-bone, (or the salad of your choice for our Vegan viewers)

Could be, but it seemed that there was little in the way to manage? It was spam attacked several times, which sat there for a few days before being cleaned up. The free forum became an after-thought, however the last few days of the forum were the most active in a long time?
