anyone getting a critical crash error with their MT4 crashing and then closing down?????

I'm getting this with all of max's bots. I have tried with different brokers too.

Any ideas?

If I want the 4hr trendline strategy to have a hard SL of 50 pts, if i use MPTM to manage by magic number of 222555 would that work? I just dont see the point of having a trendline scalp run against the position. I woould like to use MPTM to manage those trades in the manner that Dave developed and traded the strategy.

I have the same issue. Really find it strange. I now have several pairs with opposite trades. Pips are still coming in but not sure I like it when there are trades like that.

Just a wild guess, it may be your CPU capacity. How powerful is your PC? If you can start mt4 disable the EAs, remove them and start on one chart at a time. Ensure you have Master EA running before hand. I hope this helps.

As already said, it is completly normal to have pairs on opposite directions
It's like 2 EAs on 1 : 1 for CounterTrends (CT), 1 for TrendTrades (TT). We cannot avoid that since TT are opened on the trend only, CT are generally (but not exclusively) taken against the trend (in fact the trend is not checked, but since we trade a retrace, the retrace is more often against the trend).
CT and TT are managed seperatly. You can see that very often the 2 opposites positions are closed in profit, but at different times. in case of strong trend, 1 will be close in profit, the other will start recovery.

Yes I understand but it is just my mind is having trouble with it It has brought in about 5% on live this week so I am not really complaining (although DD is now 11% )

On another point, I tried changing the BE settings by modifying BEProfit_DATRMult but does not seem to have any effect. I have changed it from the default of .05 to 0.15 but the chart still says BEP=5. Pls see attached screenshot In fact I have changed the other multiplier with no effect. I have assumed that in this case ATR=132, then the multipliers of 0.35 for the BE should be 132*0.35=46.2 but the chart shows 33?

Yes, you are right.
In case of H1 or M15, I have hardcoded them in init()
You can change them directly in code :

However, my version blew up, back to starting equity as DD was too much.

I know this will sound like Negative Nancy, but unless something changes, there is a very likely possibility that this EA will blow your account like any grid trader will.

concept is great, but it behaves and performs just like a good grid trader. They will make you a lot of money while the market consolidates, but when it breaks out and big, you will pay the price.

If you are doing .01 lots long and you have 3 positions short, then you aren't compensating equally. I know there have been some basics put in to get bigger lot ranges, but I have tested grid on grid forced in opposite directions with hedging etc.. It is a challenge.

The best trick with grid traders is to cut your losses at a certain point and turn it off when the market is not behaving. I believe that is what Max is trying to do with the take your profit and run. The big issue though is that you MAY BE cutting your winning days and you will end up riding your losers.

I hope I am wrong, be forewarned on live account.

The main thing for me is that it is so complex and most of the time I don't know what is going to happen. I do like the way it closes all trades (on demo) and keeps the DD to a min but I started it on the live account which already had a short position on JU so already in DD and as it got larger it was never in positive DD or enough profit to warrant closing all. So now I am stuck with a large DD. I will see how it gows on Monday and may decide to kill them all and take the loss and start again. I will be sacrificing the gains from the month but at least I will start from a clean base.

I also read your mail you send me, althought it's rather complicated, your idea is not bad, but I think we don't need it in my EA since running it on many pairs bring more or less the same protection and results. I have no time right now to implement your idea, but thanks again to share it.

I very like your statement on M30. That means that because on my code I adjust some param only for H1 or M15, you run with params set for H4. And your results are far better. I will mod the last version according that and we will start monday with this new params (for you that's change nothing on M30)
Do you use all defaut params or did you changed some of them ?

1__ I, initially, I only changed the lot-0.1 instead of 0.5 or 0.3-
For a long time now no longer even edit the job to batch-and 0.3-Criminals = true
For the rest is as defoult.
2__ In the last week I had a crack in the telephone line, so I was still 4 hours. I think that's why he lost a little bit. Then he recovered because your system is fantastic.
3__ My idea, cells dynamically adaptive, and I know that 'good, but need an EA made just for that. While your EA continues to do its normal work (and does very well), should abandon the positions losers balancing them and making them run from one EA made just for that. Then he would make a full recovery.
